Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself and maybe find some friends in a similar boat.
I started about 2 years ago at around 310 pounds. After about 3 months I was down to 270. Then I needed an emergency hysterectomy and that set me back. Then quarantine. So I restarted about a month ago at around 286 and I am currently down to 272.
I am a calorie counter. I eat any and everything as long as it fits in my calorie allowance, and on occasion take breaks and switch over to maintaining just for a mental break.
So if you are looking for a very laid back person to be friends with on here that won't chastise you for eating a pint of ice cream a night (Guilty 🙋♀️) I am your girl. Lol
I am going to attempt to include pictures of me at 310 and me now. Chances are it won't work 🤣 But I'll give it a go anyway. Lol

It sounds like you have a good strategy; no foods off limits if it fits your allowance. And it sounds like you already know the finer details.
What are your short and long term goals, and how are you setting yourself up for success?0 -
My short term goals are just to be able to fit into my current clothes comfortably again. Long term I would love to lose about 70 pounds. I figure it will take some time but I am in no hurry.
I meal plan each week and that helps me to stay on track. Without a plan I would end up waiting until I was starving to figure out meals and in my frustration I would eat without care. So meal planning is how I plan to succeed.0 -
Meal planning is a HUGE help!
Another huge help, at least for a lot of us, is using an accurate food scale to make sure you are eating what you think you're eating. I bet you already have one.
If you're looking for a bunch of supportive people, there's a group called "Lose 1 Pound a Week and Keep it Off." Consider joining. There's only one requirement, which is a weekly weigh-in. Other than that, there's some fun challenges that are all voluntary where you can earn points for a team. There's usually a weekly challenge, too. This week it's about doing some random acts of kindness, either for others or for yourself.
If you want to check it out, just click on this link and hit the JOIN button!
