Biggest loser comp. at work HELP!!

So everyone at my work has decided to take part in a biggest loser competition. Of course now that I've lost 45lbs and only have 25-30 more to go. Well we all paid $20 to enter and we have 10 weeks to lose as much as we can. I guess the have done this before so the average winner usually has to lose 15% of their body weight. So about 25lbs for me. So what I'm asking is does anyone have any advice. I usually lose about 2lbs a week. That just isn't going to cut it. I have got to step up my game. My diary is open feel free to check it out. You won't see any exercise as I injured my toe last week and have barely been able to walk. I still lost 2 lbs though. I usually do Zumba 3 days a week burning about 600 cal. and walk 4 miles 2-3 days a week burning about 400 cal. I'm just hoping maybe I can tweek something a little to lose more like 3lbs a week. Any advice would be appriciated. $300 is the first place prize 2nd place $100 3rd place $50. I would like to at least come in 3rd so I can get my money back.

  • I would not recommend losing more than 2 lbs a week as you will end up with loose skin. Giving your diary a quick glance I can see you have enjoyed your popcorn, if you really want to lose extra weight it is best to cut out food with high sodium content which is guilty of water retention.
  • We had the same competition at work! Even the numbers were the same :-) I won because I lost 28 lbs. I was very surprised that I won because some people cheated by wearing layers and heavy clothes on the day of the initial weigh-in. I never thought to do this.

    Anyway, here is how I won:

    1) Cut out beef because the body processes this slowly.

    2) Keep chicken to a minimum.

    4) No pork

    5) Make fish your meal of choice. Especially trout, perch, cob and halibut. Steam it or bake it.

    6) Drink half your body weight in water.

    7) Work out religiously.

    8) Whenever your competitors are within earshot, brag about the awesome steak you ate last night that was covered in butter. Brag about all the chocolate you eat, but don't mention that this is all in your dreams :-)

    9) No candy or chips or pop. I was in this competition for 3 months, within that time I rarely drank pop. Did I ever? Yes. I drank diet pop on occasion.
