Is this normal?

Is it normal when you are trying to lose weight, that around your mid-section one side has more of a roll than the other? I just started noticing that today, and it was never like that before.

  • NO. See the doctor. Pronto!
Just kidding. I am pretty sure your condition is not unheard of, nor is it something to be worried about.

I have that. Mine is because of an appendix scar. Right above where the muscle was cut to extract my appendix (right side of my lower abdomen) I have a small "mother's apron". I think it qualifies as a "mother's apron" because I didn't have it before I had children (my appendix was taken when I was 13), but have had it ever since. It's stuck around even though I lost 47 lbs and weigh a healthy 120. The left side of my abdomen is flat. It sucks.

Nothing a trip to the chiropractor wont fix :) seriously.. If your spine if off it could cause you to slouch more to one side

This makes sense now! lol Honestly, when i wear tight shirts and look down I have one roll that is popped out just a bit more and I have never understood why. I'm noticing it less and less as I lose belly fat but how funny that I've often wondered about it and now read that others have the same issue :)

Ya I was just wondering if that was normal. Ok, I won't get freaked out if other people are experiencing the same thing. Must be a good sign
  • My boyfriend asked the same thing. He was told that it can depend on a slight curve in your spine. Everyone has a bit of a curve, and so you may notice that one side appears larger than the other. : ) No worries!

I'm definitely fatter on the side where my baby stuck out more. Don't notice it too much because I am pretty much fat all over my belly.

I definitely have the same thing for my stomach area. I always just assumed it had to do with the way I sat/slept in bed. ( I tend to lean to one side more than another)

good to know i'm not the only one.
