What are your non-food rewards?

I need non-food related reward ideas. Right now my rewards are cheat days and bubble tea. This isn't going to help me get to goal so I need some inspiration please!

Running shoes, new tights with pockets, phone carrier...Basically any kind of workout gear that helps me and keeps me motivated.4

DIY spa day.4

As to something to ingest, I do like a well flavored fizzy water. I currently have a Costco pack of crystal geyser in the garage. I put one in the fridge when I feel an urge for it.
Mostly, I prefer workout gear, though. If I do enough Just Dance 2020 to get sick if it, I get to download Just Dance 2021, so that I don't have to switch out the game cards between that and Ring Fit. If I ride my bike enough to figure out it needs something, I can get it. When bike shop clothes fit me, I am getting bike shorts and a cute bike shirt.
But for actual weight milestones, I just do a jaunty jig and get on with things.3 -
losing weight is my reward.
fitting into smaller clothing is my reward.
being able to physically do things I was not able to do previously, is my reward.5 -
+1 vote for new workout gear, either equipment or clothing. I usually buy workout clothes at places like Ross and TJ Maxx. I don't want to spend more than $10-15 on a single item, since I'm going to treat them pretty roughly, and eventually shrink out of them if all goes according to plan. I'm not looking for BIFL workout gear, other than shoes, those are worth investing in.
If not workout gear, then maybe a new book or audiobook you've been eying. Is it time to replace those headphones? New phone case? Art supplies? Maybe just pay yourself or save up for something really nice - put away $X for every X lbs lost.
That said, it's also worth figuring out how to coexist with treats. Bubble tea will still be there when you reach GW; maybe you've decided that you're never getting bubble tea again, that's your prerogative. But what if you figured out how to fit it into your calorie budget? Made it a small treat you plan for and get sometimes, rather than a Forbidden Snack that you Can't Have Anymore until you're Good Enough?6 -
I focus on other areas of self care, my list includes:
New clothes I feel good wearing
A massage
A facial
A Day off work and a Netflix binge
A new great pair of shoes running or heels I love both
A day I can sleep in as long as I want
I know you said non food but I will occasionally add opening a bottle of my favorite wine. I can no only drink max 2 glasses before I feel it pretty good so it’s easy to moderate and keep in my calorie budget.6 -
Jeans that fit.
They're expensive. My sizes have changed a lot. I use a belt a lot but every once in a while I let myself buy a new pair that will stay up without being pleated by the belt and I stop feeling like a slob for a while. It's very nice.
(But also, yes, workout gear. My gift to myself when I get to a 'normal' BMI, even the very top end, is going to be the *NICE* running shoes.)3 -
(But also, yes, a freaking brownie and eating at maintenance for a week)1

Clothes generally for me1

I've been buying fancy herbal teas. I've got a pot that takes loose leaf tea and now I've got a pretty big collection of teas that I drink all day long. I've got some weird ones (it has cedar tips in it, and I like it!) and some lemony, some fruity, some minty. I burn a nice smelling candle, sip my tea and watch some vids or read something trashy if I really want to feel indulgent.5

I do a lot of fizzy water too. We have a brand here in Canada that does Root Bear, Ginger Ale, and Cream Soda so I can get the taste of a soda without all the negative affects.1 -

A day off of work is an awesome reward. I didn't take a day in 2020 because what was I going to do and where was I going to go. Taking a day off to lounge sounds like a perfect reward for losing weight! Thank you!1 -
I am half a pound away from a fancy face cream I have had my eye on. I didn't realize when I was younger how excited I would get about skin care, but here we are!
A lot of mine are self-care things that have nothing to do with food. I have rewards every ten pounds, so after the next ten I'm getting a haircut (I normally just trim it myself). When I'm halfway to my goal weight I'm going to spend the day thrift shopping for myself (which is a hobby I enjoy, but it's rare that I do it for myself, by myself.)
For me the idea is that through this process I'm just going to get better at taking care of my body in a lot of different ways, not just by what I eat and how I move. Neglecting that has been a big picture thing and it's all factored in to how things got to where they were.7 -
I will always reward myself with margaritas, even if they're the skinny version. Lol
I've also rewarded myself with books, leggings, and new running shoes. Today I'm going for a bra fitting and I am honestly excited. I've dropped 75lbs over the past 15 months and I desperately need new bras.5 -
Cute workout clothes or workout gear in general seems to be a trend with me.
Im thinking about a spa day though. Im in terrible need of a massage.😊
And I also keep a sexy outfit hanging in the closet for motivation, so when I hit a goal, I get to wear it.2 -
Makeup, new bra’s (they’re expensive and it feels good to replace old ones), new clothes, shoes, facial creams/oil, perfume.
I always do something that makes me feel special and pampered.1 -
Buying myself flowers when I go grocery shopping.4

I just ordered a new black and white graphic sports bra as a reward for sticking to my exercise program for 3 weeks. Consistency is the problem for me so it’s going pretty well. I figure next time I don’t feel like working out I’ll wear my new bra! 😆 That will get my butt in gear!2

Clothes and new sneakers for me.0

For me non-food related rewards are new clothes that fit my slimmer self, or new underwear!
A play or movie I would like to see (-before Covid-19 era!!!)
New face care goodies (face masks, serums, jade roller, eye masks etc..)
And of course new shoes... not gym shoes...
But the truth is I am still of the mindset, that once I lose X amound of pounds I might order from my favourite restaurant. It is hard to rewrite years of habits!

I love this post. So important to have non-food treats.
Instead of comfort eating, mine are:
listen to an upbeat song on you tube or spotify. Especially on you tube so you get the video of them singing live or the official video. Lifts my spirits.
watch a comedy show or uplifting Ted talk
play candy crush (especially if I want something sweet because I feel stressed - Candy Crush instead of candy)
write in a journal - offload onto the page instead of into your mouth
go for a walk with a friend
a cosy crime novel on kindle
a long bath by candlelight
meditate for 10 mins, or do 10 minute yoga
swing on the garden swing seat with a cup of fruit tea and just relax
feed the birds and watch them
for 'good job!' rewards, something like:
a bottle of nail polish,
new sports kit,
a small bunch of flowers or pot plant,
a scented candle
new bubble bath or Epsom salts,
massage brush,
lip gloss,
essential oils for the bath,
a magazine on fitness or a craft interest
For milestone weight loss - book a theatre show or art show or event you want to go to instead of a restaurant. Or book a beauty treatment.
I also do healthy or low calorie food treats, so fresh raspberries or blueberries - I can eat a punnet and not feel guilty, or fruit teas, diet sodas (not often) salted microwave popcorn, mini ice lollies (popsicles in US)2 -
I've kind of got a big one I'm about to endulge in... wireless ear buds to use at the gym. I'm so excited!0

I like to set little goals for myself and then I have little rewards.
Here are a couple:
- Individual supplies for making sourdough bread
- new case for phone
- Arm holder for phone
- Fancy flavored water (normally wouldn't pay $2 per bottle)
- New book that I can't get from library1 -
These are all great!
I love the flowers idea.
I have a bad habit of buying myself a candy bar or 2 or three at the grocery store. I am putting a few dollars in a jar for everytime I go to the store or meet a friend for coffee and don't buy the treats.
Will buy myself something after a few weeks.0
