How are you trying to lose weight? Just calorie counting and reducing how much you eat, or also trying to change what you eat?
The best thing is to start gradually: start by logging your food intake, without making any changes. Then set up you profile and goals and aim for your calorie goal by reducing your portions. After you've got that as a routine, you can think about making gradual changes to what you eat, for example replacing foods you eat by similar foods with less calories, or increasing your vegetable intake and lowering the portion size of the 'carb' party of your meal, or whatever changes you want to try in order to feel more satiated within your calorie goal.

Losing weight is practice for maintenance, build habits gradually that will allow you to keep the weight off afterwards. Don't make temporary changes with the idea of 'going back to normal' afterwards.

Does quitting mean over-eating or does quitting mean stopping dieting very severely?
Just think if your "quitting" was eating at maintenance..... You could lose weight one week or even one day at a time.

More information required as only you know what motivates you, what demotivates you, how you set out to diet etc. etc.

My main tip would be in putting a lot of thought into making a hard job as easy for you as possible using your own strengths and mitigating your weaknesses.

Everyone is different except for one thing: motivation. Everyone needs it. A goal is often not enough and requires a reason. If the reason is important enough to you, it helps with staying focused. Good luck!
