Total Beginner... But I Want Abs! Suggestions?

Hello, I'm a completely beginner to this whole exercising thing but I'm ready to change my lazy ways because I want to look and feel better. Mostly, I want to build muscle. I want abs, I want the muscles in my arms to show. And I'm a girl so I won't get huge muscles but I don't that. I would just love to like these girls, especially Miranda Kerr:

I was hoping someone could give me a routine to stick with? I know it'll take months and it won't be easy but I'm willing to put in the effort if I know I'll get the results I want eventually. So far, I've just been using the Cardio Twister and Ab King Pro. I'm not sure if those are actually effective (my father bought them from a TV ad so I have my doubts lol) but they do feel like they're working. Still, I'd be much happier if I actually had an idea of the sorts of exercises and many reps I should be doing if I want abs and toned arms and legs.
I'm twenty, female, 163cm and 45.4kg (that's about 5'3" and 100 pounds).
Thank you

What sort of exercises do you do usually?0 -
At 63"/100 lbs, you don't need to lose, but you want to develop muscle and tone. There are plenty of plans out there. However you are going to need to do activity to build muscle, not just use an abs machine.
There are several plans on here --> http://www.fitstudio.com/programs/bcx
Many use your body as the "weight" so you won't need to get extra equipment.
Good luck.0 -
Thank you! The website is really helpful, I just checked it out

a buch of people here are in love with the book the new rules of lifting for women (NROLFW) which is a weightlifting program focused on giving women that awesome physique. i have the book, i just taking baby steps towards weighs before i embrace it myself
one thing to be aware off if you start along this path... you will have to start eating a fair amount and *will* put on weight (both muscle and probably a bit of fat too) before you are finished & you need to be ready for that and not freaked out by it. the results seem worth it!

Ooh, I've checked out their website and I definitely want to get my hands on that book now
Hmm, I'm not sure if I want to put on weight but I can definitely deal with the eating part... When I'm not on a diet (read: when I'm being myself, the gluttonous pig that I am), I consume about 2000 calories a day. But thanks for the heads up, I'll keep at it and definitely wait to see how it turns out. Gaining a few kilos is certainly worth it if I look and feel great about my body... my toned, lovely new body :P
And Staci is indeed interesting.... and inspiring
Thanks for replying, hope you have an awesome day0
