Motivated

Hey everyone, I’m a struggling but trying to stay motivated nursing student, married to my best friend. And in need of wanting to be my best self for me, and my husband. Life is too short. I just want to feel good snd comfortable in my own skin after 33 years of an internal battle of a love hate relationship with myself and my body. Looking to drop weight and feel healthier snd be my best healthier happier self. So here goes nothing.

Welcome! I found motivation was a fickle *kitten*. What worked for me was changing my habits, so they would carry me through when motivation wouldn't. What habit changes are you making?

Thank you! Happy to be here! And yes motivation can be hard some days more than others. That’s a good tip, I think I’m not changing enough habits, I started with portion control. Or more veggies than pasta and fat. What did you change?

Hi there! I'm here with my best friend and Fiancé doing the same thing.

If you need a someone to motivate you, please do feel free to send me a friend request.

And everyone is definitely different, and self confidence in what your doing and in yourself is huge, there is no way around it. HOWEVER, we aren't born in a test tube, floating around in a world to ourselves. from a Metaphysical point of view, we are actually quantum entangled in both time and space with the infinity universe, which quite simply means in the grand scheme of things it takes the universe to shape each and every one of us. so that would include friends and family that can support you and help motivate you. I know I need the support as much as I like offering it.

    We can do this!

Best of luck! Motivation is hard, but you just have to keep at it! I used MFP years ago and got to my goal weight, but after many years and a baby, and now quarantine, it all crept back on. I'm back trying to get back under control so I feel strong and healthy for my daughter. Please feel free to send me a friend request!

Thank you, same to you!! I’ve used this before and it really helped with the support on here and being held accountable I think really helps motivate more. Being healthy and strong is the key. Always!

There’s been so many along the way. I did not do them all at once. I advocate making one change, locking that in, then making another change.

Some habits I’ve built (again, not all at once!!!)

    1. Prioritize protein at every meal.
    2. My eating window is currently 12:00 to 8:00. (This has evolved as life has changed.)
    3. When I’m working from an office, I go to the gym before work. I get tired and think of too many excuses if I say if going to go after work.
    4. Logging all my food, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
    5. I weigh in every day. I’ve learned a lot about my body doing this.
    6. I save 200-300 calories for dessert every night. I’ve learned I freak out and binge if I try to completely cut out chocolate and ice cream.
    7. 10000 steps per day

There are lots more I’m overlooking, I’m sure.

So when you say eating window it’s like intermittent fasting? Omg I love dessert too. Thank you for sharing these with me. It’s really helpful.

Yeah, but I'm not militant about it. I was super hungry this morning (thanks, TOM) so I had breakfast.

Breakfast can be so so good sometimes. What made you start fasting?
