Numbers Not Dropping !

Since the pandemic , working at home and sitting at a desk all day has resulted in less physical activity and has caused me to put on a few pounds. I started my weight loss and fitness journey about 6 weeks ago, I have religiously logged my meals coming under my calorie limit daily. I have never been a junk food / fast food person and I believe that I am eating right . I have been working out minimum 3 -4 times a week , 30mins to an hour depending on my mood, doing cardio and strength ,step aerobics, using weights 5-8lbs , resistance bands , jump rope , full body workout videos etc.... My goal was to lose down to 145lbs , for me that was only 7 lbs to lose. In appearance I see my body changing for the better. I am starting to tone up , however, In 6 weeks I lost 1lb and gained 3 ! Why are the numbers not dropping ??? I don't get it . I probably should add that I am over 50 so I know it gets harder, but still .........Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep in mind the scale will not tell you the whole story. It is just a tool. You said you noticed your body changing for the better, focus on this. If you are adding a bit of muscle, muscle is much denser than fat so although it takes up less room, you wont see a drop on the scale. I suggest also taking measurements and before pictures. If you use this in addition to the scale, you will have a better view of your actual progress. Best of luck.1

It's very likely it's the working out. Working out burns fat and reduced inches, but also builds muscle which weighs more than fat. Sometimes it can look like you're staying the same weight, but youve lost fat and gained muscle. Diets are more than just the scale. Eventually, your body will catch up and you'll see the difference when you weigh yourself!2

Thank you so much ! I do understand muscle weighs more than fat .Overall I am happy that I am seeing my workouts taking effect on my appearance . ( It WOULD be nice to see the numbers drop though 😆) I guess I just needed some confirmation and encouragement. I will continue my journey because it can only end up on a positive note !1
