Yesterday, we were inundated with those terrifying images of what happened 10 years ago on 9/11. I found myself in tears watching the various tributes. And now today, I've been reading some rather harsh commentaries about the events of 9/11. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I think we should all pause and remember WHY we have that right. Brave men & women have been putting themselves in harm's way since the birth of this country to protect the freedoms that we as Americans enjoy on a daily basis. That being said, I just want to say thank you to the men & women in the U.S. military. And also, thank you to the men & women in fire, police & EMT depts across the country. Your service, whether at home or abroad, means more to many of us than simple words can express.

And to the brave men and women of Flight 93, who saved countless lives by giving up their own. They weren't soldiers or first responders, just citizens reminding us all of what we are capable of at our best.

I too am horrified at people's disregard for those who lost their lives and those who fight for our freedom. I am very thankful for the men and women putting their lives on the line for each one of us. With that said, I see so many post about thank you to our military but on that sad day in September 2001 as we sat and watched in horror it was the FDNY and the NYPD that rushed in without a second thought to save people that they never met. I really think that they are not shown enough appreciation.

and one more thing before I get off my soapbox...

To those every day people on flight 93 who had nothing to gain and everything to lose but decided they would not let their plane become a weapon of terror we should be forever grateful!
