You guys ever have one of those moments when you're feeling really good about your weight loss, then you see a picture of yourself and it crushes you? My Warrior Dash pics kinda did that to me. I was so excited about how I was doing, then I saw those and it's like I've been doing it for nothing!! I know not really...but.

I was feeling really good about being a jean size smaller and then I looked in the full length dressing room mirror....but I still feel good about the one size down thing, though.

Yes. It happens all the time. I'll be feeling cute and happy and I'll catch a glimpse of my thighs in a window reflection and I'll be gutted.

    Totally understand...

But OMG... You did a Warrior Dash so that means you totally RULE

Happens regularly! Feel great and then I see pictures and that is not how I feel! Eventually the outside will match what the inside is feeling-stronger and thinner every day!

I feel good looking in the mirror until I turn sideways--and see my belly is still pooching out... :(

Just being able to do the Warrior Dash should make you feel great no matter what the pictures look like!

I'm trying a new approach, because I don't think I'll ever look like I did when I was young and thin.

    Now it's:

"Well, my thighs look less cottage-cheesy than they did 2 months ago."

"Well, now it's just the varicrose veins keeping me from wearing that skirt, not the fat rolls over my kneecaps."

"Hey, my feet aren't swelling while I'm standing here admiring myself in the mirror. Go me!"

    It's the little victories..... :o)

I'm not sure why you're whining about your pictures, especially since you plan to continue to lose. You're out of the house, racing, and socializing, and you feel good doing it; so, to complain because you still have a way to go before you look the way you think you should look in a picture is pointless, because you'll get there. Personally, I think you should consider yourself lucky that your heart isn't hardened with a thick skull, and you aren't losing any weight. I've told several people about this site, and they gained weight. It's like their minds rebelled against all logic; and instead of eating less, they ate more food with tears rolling down their faces because the need to overeat outweighed their will to live. It's hard to understand the pain of obesity until you've seen a person choking down a Sonic hot dog, large fries, and extra-large coke after their doctor told them they were going to die if they kept eating that kind of food. You just have to walk away, hope for the best, and pray you're not asked to be the pallbearer at the funeral. All I'm saying is you have plenty of reasons to smile and be proud, because you're making it happen. You're losing.
