30 day chocolate fast!!

I am beginning my chocolate fast! I am a woman so of course this is difficult for me! I ate some chocolate last night knowing today I wouldn't be eating any. My husband teased me that he is worried that I will get crabby if I can't have my chocolate fast. But ultimately, if I don't eat it, I find myself thinking that the calories for any other sweets isn't even worth it! The bummer is that my birthday is in a little over a week so I will not be eating chocolate on my birthday either. But that's okay. I know at the end of these 30 days I will feel strong for being able to resist my biggest temptation in the food world! And maybe I will even continue longer than these 30 days.
If anyone is interested in joining me, feel free! Tell ya what, if I have anyone join me in these next few days I will continue my fast from chocolate until YOUR 30 days is up!

I wish you luck. I can't do 30 days, but I can probably pull off 30 seconds.
Dammit...I just failed! lol
Just kidding. Really, best of luck to you0 -
Cake and ice cream come in many flavors. Enjoy your birthday ... they only come around once a year.0

Dang. I thought it was going to be "Eat only chocolate for 30 days" :grumble:0

Yeah, that is what made me click lol.
Truthfully, chocolate is what keeps me on track. If I exercise and am a good girl with the diet, then I have enough calories left for a treat meaning something sugar free/no sugar added in regard to ice cream or chocolate. It is my atta girl lol

I would never make it. However, my favorite chocolate cheat is Emerald's 100 calorie pack cocoa roasted almonds. 100 calories, protein AND chocolate. A perfect little pick me up.0

Why cut out chocolate?
I am not a chocolate lover, but I do eat a square of 80 or 90% dark chocolate a couple of times per week for the health benefits of it.
Maybe switch to a darker chocolate that is organic and rain forest alliance or square trade - these chocolates are good for you.0 -

I love chocolate, too! I have done a 40-day no sweets fast, successfully....sort of. My mistake was basically substituting other junk food for sweets. Ok, no chocolate bars, ice cream, baked goods or pop, but then I would binge on graham crackers with cream cheese and Smuckers cherry jam. (Technically, those items weren't on my fast list; I was just kidding myself.) My humble opinion is to figure what you can have, preferably not a high-calorie or high-sugar item, so if your cravings do get really strong, you won't feel like you are completely restricted. THAT feeling is what is more likely to have you go over-board when (if!) you're done fasting.
Good luck to you! Be strong! You will feel better!0 -
LOL its only for 30 days and the only reason I am doing it is because its what I tend to binge on. You know... I am doing so great and then I see something chocolate and I just can't get enough of it!0

could never put a single food on the taboo list! It would make me want it more! good luck!!0

I gave up anything artificially sweet for 30 days. Chocolate, sweets, cake, ice cream, biscuits, sugar in coffee etc etc. It did me good as I had got into a bad habit of having sugar in coffee, only because during my exams I needed a boost.
I now am back to coffee with just a splash of skimmed milk. I am eating sugatrs again now. Its hard because like others I use it as a treat with left over cals, but I think it makes me hungrier and craving more.
I got bought a load of goodies for my birthday and have been portioning in 200 cal bundles, but as they are all but gone I might try to implement this again!
I am never giving up the booze for 30 days again though! that was TOUGH!!!!!!0 -
I've stopped forbidding myself chocolate. I had a Klondike bar today, and was still 1000 calories below my goal, with four servings of fruits and veggies.
I find it's easier--and I seem to be able to have these treats in moderation now rather than binging on them. Balancing out the rest of my diet has let me give in to my cravings in moderation.
Old Me would have eaten three Klondike bars throughout the afternoon. New me eats one and feels satisfied.
But if I didn't let myself eat it--and put off all similar treats for a long time---the binge that would ensue at the end would probably cause some sort of nuclear fusion in my stomach.
Maybe I'd lose weight faster if I totally gave up the sugar, but I'm just not willing to do it, as long as I seem to not be overeating it.0
