Random friends

I've not been on MFP in perhaps about a year. My bf had signed up about 3 years ago and never really got into it so his account has been inactive. We just recently started each getting bombarded daily with requests to become friends on MFP with random strangers. I was alarmed when suddenly it seems as he was checking his email from his phone in bed together, all the sudden requests HE was getting.

It started with one and I was like who the f$#@ is judyannblahahaha and why the F'#$& is her profile picture her &$@%??? I was immediately upset by this, almost as if perhaps my bf suddenly has some secret thing going on logging into MFP thirst-adding or atleast chatting up slutty women. Has he been using MFP the way many seem to these days? As a resource for free whack material and cyber hook-ups? But then I noticed suddenly I was getting spammed by requests, too. By random guys with 6-packs in front of a mirror.

Ok. I get it. MFP is like others and tracks users habits. Clearly they have determined inactive users may need a push to get us to come back, hence all the influx of friend requests as if we've been active online.

What I want to know if is- where and how do the other users get our emails??? You really seem to have to know who you're looking for in order to add as a friend.

I tried to search who sluttyannekissmya$$ and realized you can't just randomly search other members- unless of course you know you're looking for, leaving me wondering how all these other people (bots?) Got OUR email addresses?

Don't look into it too much. We're all getting them.

I had a friend in high school that even if a single cloud blotted out the sun, he'd say, "it's cloudy, let's mosh!", and then try to start a mosh pit with whoever was around. Didn't matter where he was. So random.

Those are bots (probably russian) adding people, same thing happens to a lot of people lately.
There is a thread to report these users so MFP can remove them, and also block IP
