message from myfitness pal about other members

Actually, having so many people involved :(teams, points, award badges :( in the first time I tried another similar website caused me to fail then. I would rather be left alone.
While it is true that others have wisdom, it distracts me from listening to my body and I begin to focus on others' experiences when I should be focused on my own experience and how it feels inside as I try to change my eating habits.

You can use this site without being involved with other users. Don't send or accept friend requests. Make your diary private. Turn off all feed notifications. And don't read or post on message boards. Don't go looking at your profile for your points (not sure what that even means in an MFP context) or award badges.

I don't have any friends on MFP, I don't engage in private messaging and I engage on the boards when I feel inclined to and if I feel I have something to say. You can ignore any MFP emails about engaging on the site, you can participate as much or as little (if any) as you want.

A lot of people do enjoy the interactions though, I guess that's why it is called my fitness PAL...pal as in friends.

You can be left alone--just turn it all off. Do not accept FR. If and when you change your mind, you can then change back. Everyone is different. Agree--don't post on the boards if you want to fly under the radar. You can "lurk" if you want to collect information. Good luck with your weight loss.

At one point I was connected with around 70 people on here, but now it’s down to just eight people who I know personally, plus two I connected with on here years ago who are great supporters. I haven’t been on these boards in a long time until this past week.
