Too much cardio?

after doing 1 mile of high interval training.. I could NOT cool down... I finally got my heart rate down to 140 after 8 mins... then walked around the gym, sat down, thinking I was gonna throw up... then I tried to do strength training. .. and after my 3 sets on the leg press I had to lay on the gym floor next to the machine so I would not faint... I was beet red and sweating like crazy... so I took a breather and came home.. why would this happen?! I drank 3 cups of water while I was there... is that too much?

Yes usually I do about 25 minutes and cool down... and I'm usually right below the 1 mile mark.. so today I said I was gonna do a mile and it took 30 mins... however the intervals today were a bit longer than I had been doing but I have done longer intervals before..0 -
Did I do something wrong? Is it because I hadn't eaten much before my workout or something?0

The same thing happened to me when I started with my cardio routine again. I think it was because I wasn't hydrated enough and didn't have enough energy to get through my workout. now I make sure I am well hydrated before my workouts and I eat a banana or 1/2 cup of oatmeal before my workouts. I also learned to check my heart rate about every 5-6 minutes to be sure I am at my target heart rate so I am not over doing it.0 -
Try a sports drink, gatorade or powerade, that happens to me sometimes and I was told it could be electrolytes, I get dizzy and achey and tired (yawn like crazy!). Now if I have a few gulps of a sports drink after I feel fine. And you don't even need the whole bottle (something like 185 cals for the whole thing, I only drink about a quarter).0

I had a similar incident and a vitamin water helped me so much that I bought some vitamin B complex liquid. I would agree on fueling up beforehand too.0
