On the rare occasion when I order french fries, I insist that they are delivered to my table incredibly hot.

If they arrive at the table even lukewarm, I politely ask the server:

"Can I trade these fries for a batch of hot ones?"

These things are important to me.

I once dated a girl who wore orange underwear. It was some very high-end material.

This same girl was bat-guano crazy, but I really did appreciate her choice of undergarments.

That being said, awesome undies do not negate a nutty personality.

    Study History.

It can (and probably will) help you appreciate how fortunate we are.

    Example(s)
(for those of you who are unfamiliar )

    Google:

    Nanking China 1937

    or

The Great American Dust Bowl 1931

    or

    Battle of the Somme 1916

These events weren't all that long ago & but for timing (and by the grace of God), we too might have experienced them first-hand.

    Gratitude is a good thing.

    Oh, J...
I have 2 magnetic white boards on my fridge that I write "inspirational stuff" on
    ....its not working!

Well, maybe I need to change the message up a bit!

I like the thought, the quote about taking care of yourself, (your body) because that's where 'you live'
Makes so much sense to me❤❤

    The “laws” I live by:

Don’t waste precious time and mental energy on things you have no control over.

You have to want something bad enough to take action to achieve it. Along the same lines, a goal without a plan is just a dream.

Almost every choice you make either moves you forward or backwards

There’s no such thing as “too busy”, it is only about what you prioritize

"Tentative efforts lead to tentative outcomes.

Therefore, give yourself fully to your endeavors.

Decide to construct your character through excellent actions and determine to pay the price of a worthy goal.

The trials you encounter will introduce you to your strengths.

Remain steadfast and one day you will build something that endures: something worthy of your potential."

I once read an interview with one of my favorite authors, Octavia Butler who said she viewed every menial job she ever had to support her writing habit as "research" - for a character or setting she would someday write about

In that spirit, whenever I face a trial or disappointment, I try to view it as "research" for my next creative project or opportunity to be empathetic and understanding of another's suffering. It has helped me be much more open to seeing those opportunities to lift someone else up or at least be a comforting presence

Consider that before long you will be nobody and nowhere, nor will any of the things exist that you now see, nor any of those who are now living. For all things are formed by nature to change and be turned and to perish in order that other things in continuous succession may exist.
    -Marcus Aurelius
