does anyone have any good suggestions for working out at the gym?
generally i just do a mile on the treadmill, some elliptical and bike and then some push-ups and crunches.

I start with a few yoga stretches (10-min)... Do 20-min elliptical because it's low-impact... to some weights on the hip abductor machine(10-min 5 sets of 12), then I do the bicycle until I start to feel it in my back, usually about 10-min. Then some push-ups, crunches and planks.

my wife loves zumba, spinning, and kickboxing. she's taking a pole dancing class next week ::giggity::0

what are you looking to do at the gym? more cardio or some strength also?0

holding dumbbells and doing lunges and squats doesn't sound like much of an exercise but 3 sets of 15 with light weight makes my legs burn!0

Stregnth training routine
2 to 3 times a week (not on the same day as your heavy cardio routine)
warm up with 10 to 12 minutes cardio
2 sets of each (light the first set for 10 reps, 2nd set use a weigth that limits you to 6 to 8 reps)
dumbbell deadlifts
dumbbell lunges
dumbbell flat bench press
lat machine pulldown
cable rows
hammer curls
cable pulldowns with rope attachment
call it good, go home and have a high protein dinner
Try it for 6 weeks and see what happens.0 -

When you're on the treadmill, I'd try mixing up the intensities. This keeps your body guessing so it doesn't fall into the same routine, thus reducing amount of weight lost. Also, it burns more calories! Another good idea would be to strength train. I usually just stick to the free weights, because it's hard to use the barbells when you don't have a spotter...they're also kind of intimidating! lol.0

If your gym offers it, I loved Pilates. I took a class a couple years ago and definitely noticed a difference after the 10-week session was over. I just moved from Kansas to Wisconsin and my new gym doesn't offer it (bummer). I need to find a good Pilates studio that's nearby.0
