I was going to put what size balls are good for shorter people but I figured nobody would read it and I woudln't get my answer.

So anyways, I am looking for those big exercise balls. I guess they come in different sizes?
My friend took me to her gym yesterday and showed me a bunch of awesome exercises to do! The ball i used was the same size as hers and she is easily 8 inches taller than me. I do feel i got a good workout, but I was wondering, what size ball is good for a person who is about 5 feet tall? I have no idea what size the ball was we used, it was the biggest there but I have been looking up these balls all day and I had no idea they come in so many sizes? I really want to get the right size so that the exercises are effective and don't hurt my back/shoulders. Can anyone help me find the right size balls? LOL, okay that was funny. Also, the right weight kettle ball or whatever it's called for the crunches I do on the big ball?

This is a good question, as I'm a little munchkin- just like you!

I recently bought an exercise ball, was so happy- brought it home and pumped it up with hubby's air compressor and then he pointed out..

"Umm.. Bella... you do know that you bought the larger ball for 165cm+?"

    *slapped my forehead* "Dammit!"

So, apparently, I should have bought the 55cm ball (almost child-sized) and not the 65cm ball (for normal height-folks)... What's the difference really? It's not like I can touch the floor on a standard chair!

    Ah-ha! Bingo! 55cm :)

    10cm
  • ya, I think i was using the 65 one, it was okay, but it took up like my whole back and upper legs when I was trying to do crunches which defeated the purpose. I was too embaraased to tell her so i just rolled around on it like a beached whale, lol. Fell off a couple times because my legs are not long enough to strtch the width of the ball to lift it with my ankles like she wanted to do, ugh, I was laughing so hard I started crying!

I lookedcrazy flopping around on the floor with this huge ball!
