  • canned tuna heated up in a pan with salsa, cilantro and then put on a white corn tortilla or in a big spinach and romaine salad with cherry tomatoes and onions. or you can use foster farms chicken strips the same way.

boca burgers on 100 calorie whole wheat english muffins.

i mix a part of a packet of sugar free jello powder into plain greek yogurt and dip fruits in it or mix onion dip mix powder in it with veggies.

sweet potatoes cut up drizzled in olive oil with saltless seasoning in the over on lo broil.

boneless skinless chicken breasts cut up, cooked in a skillet, add half a can of drained, washed black beans, some bbq sauce or salsa, eat with corn or wheat tortillas or by it self, or on a salad.

Great suggestions. . . I would only add that nuts in measured amounts help with hunger or you can also eat veggies with hummus. .

When I first started dieting I came to love dill pickles they are practically 0 calories and full of flavor. They also make a nice filler in lots of salads.

On that note if you're cooking yourself don't be afraid to use lots of high fiber low calorie fillerr in your recipes so you get fewer calories per mouthful but still feel full. I like to use chopped celery and onions.

You might also consider using whole grain pasta and brown rice in place of their pale equivalents sometimes they may even have a few more calories but they take longer to digest so you feel full longer.

And of course drink lots of ice water. In fact whenever you feel like having a snack drink at least 12 oz of water first wait a minute and see if you're still as hungry before you fix something.

These tricks worked for me. Hopefully they can help you too.
  • I'm on Tim Ferriss' slow-carb diet, so here's some of my favorite foods to eat right and stay full:

Protein shake (30 grams within 30 minutes of waking).

Fajita bol with steak, peppers, romaine lettuce, salsa, sour cream, guacamole.

Baked skinless boneless chicken with black or pinto beans, mixed veggies, lots of spinach (season the chicken with Montreal steak rub).

Hard-boiled eggs, two with yolk, two without, with beans/veggies/broccoli/spinach - sriracha sauce or kosher salt can make these sing.

Slim Fast or Ensure protein shake, or Atkins peanut butter nougat bar if I need something good to chew on.

My slow carb diet pretty much bans fruit, rice of any kind, bread of any kind, potatoes, dairy, basically anything that is white or can be white except for veggies like cauliflower.

If you need something before bed, try a couple tablespoons of almond butter on a celery stick - will also help you from feeling like crap when you get up in the mornings.

I'll indulge in coffee with sugar and french vanilla creamer on early work days, but only once or twice a week.

No alcohol, except one or at most two glasses of red wine each night. I do so very, very rarely.

On my diet, I also get a binge day once a week to eat whatever the heck I want.

Try drinking more water, 8 glasses a day at least - often times, feeling hungry when you shouldn't is because of a lack of hydration rather than a real need for nutrients.

If you find yourself going over your calories for the day eating good, healthy food, just add a bit of activity or exercise to bring your calorie count back down. I hate treadmills, but I love strength training, and biking. Better to satisfy your hunger with more filling, healthy food, and commit to some exercise in the evening than to suffer the physical and mental distraction of hunger.

Also keep in mind, as you start changing your diet, your body's going to be confused and act out of whack in some ways, sometimes in the form of hunger when you shouldn't really be hungry. It took my body about three weeks to start to acclimate, and since then, I've found it more challenging to eat enough during the day to keep my calories up than to eat too many.

Best of luck! One day leads to two, two to four, four to a week and multiples thereof, and within just a few short weeks, you will be amazed at the difference you see and feel.
  • Here are snacks/meals that I like to eat:

scrambled egg whites with salmon flakes over mixed greens with a side of tofu

cottage cheese with blueberries and strawberries cut into small pieces is a great breakfast

chocolate protein shake - chocolate protein, skim milk, half a banana, ice

chicken breast tenders grilled with salt, pepper, and red pepper over a salad or brown rice

persian shirazi salad over healthy crackers

    grilled salmon over brown rice
