Just looking for some consistent motivation. It is so easy to slip. And then hate yourself for it. And it takes so much to gather steam again!

I wouldn't rely on your motivation. Motivation comes and goes.
What you need instead is discipline. Being able to say no to some thing. Being able to stick to your plan. Because when your disciplined, it doesnt matter how motivated you feel. You'll just do it anyway.
And also, when your emotions come in to play, them days if you're having a stressed day, you're less likely to turn to junk food if you remain disciplined. Feel stressed and eat a salad anyway!
However becoming disciplined is hard in itself. But you'll go a lot further if you work on your discipline rather than your motivation
And personally, I've found that doing an action makes me motivated. Rather than waiting for motivation to do the action.1 -
