Eye of the Tiger.....I mean what's better than motivation from Rocky?

This one came on yesterday while I was running and totally helped me run a little more even though I didn't want to at ALL.

  • My long-time favorite songs to run/workout to:

    Separate Ways - Journey
Return of Salieri - Warmen (Well, ANY of the Salieri songs to be honest)
Every Little Thing - Ra (Cover of an original by Police)
Into the Moonlight - Dream Evil
When I Grow Up - ***** Cat Dolls
    Hey Ya - Outkast

Anything fast with a hard beat. It helps a lot if there is killer guitar involved.
  • This was my "set list" on the iPod when I ran a 5K yesterday (9/11).

    Miami 2017- Billy Joel
    New York Groove- Ace Freely
    Cult of Personality- Living Colour
    Running on Empty- Jackson Browne
    It's My Life- Bon Jovi
    Sledgehammer- Peter Gabriel
Walk- Foo Fighters (always end my runs with this song)

Absolute, number 1 motivator song for me is Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Methinks this thread might inspire me to go make a couple playlists to run to. Usually I just shuffle all or run to Podrunner's pod cast (tonite was an hour of 160 BPM techno trance music. Good stuff!).
  • See A Little Light - Bob Mould
    Enchanted - Stevie Nicks
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - Fall Out Boy
Travelin' Band - Creedence Clearwater Revival
    These Days - REM
    Everything To Lose - Dido
    Clocks - Coldplay
Rock While I Can Rock - Steve Forbert
    Barracuda - Heart
    99.9 F - Suzanne Vega
When I Come Around - Green Day
Born To Run - Bruce Springstee
Rolling In The Deep - Adele
    Shout - Isley Brothers
  • Dirt of Your Shoulder by Jay-Z. Good for a 5-6mph run.

Anything by New Politics, Beastie Boys, or Toadies. Although I did have a pretty mellow Liam Finn song come on one day that kept me going, "The Music Moves My Feet". Perfect timing on that one! :)
  • No Sleep - Wiz Khalifa
    Blow - Kesha
    Without You - Usher/David Guetta
    Sweat - Snoop Dogg/David Guetta
Icky Thump - The White Stripes
Don't Mind If I Do - Mac Miller
    Donald Trump - Mac Miller
    Take Over Control - Afrojack
    Hello - Martin Solveig
Give You Hell - All American Rejects
  • Stronger--Kayne West
    Imma Be--Black Eyed Peas
    Rock that Body--Black Eyed Peas
    Cobrastyle--Robyn
    Rio De Janeiro--Ugly Duckling
    Abigail Silk--Ugly Duckling
    Another Samba--Ugly Duckling
Noam Chomsky Spring Break 2002--Department of Eagles
    Damn Girl--Justin Timberlake
    Brandenburg--Black Violin

Almost anything by A7X makes me push a million times harder, especially Afterlife and Unholy Confessions.

I'm not sure how they work for running, since I'm just starting C25K, but these songs give me lots of extra energy for my other workouts:

Cee Lo Green- Forget You (the non-radio-appropriate version is even better for getting me fired up)
Ricky Martin- La Vida Loca (please don't judge)
    Arethra Franklin- Respect (a classic!)
