My boyfriend really knows what to say sometimes

So my boyfriend has been so encouraging and just been great helping me with losing weight, even though he doesn't think i need to.
But he came over the other day got out his car and i gave him a hug and he said "sorry im taken and if my girlfriend see's me with you she may get the wrong....oh wait you are my girlfriend!!! where have you gone!?!"
