My Bolt is still not well.
Had to take him back to the vets last night. Got home at 230 this morning with more meds.
This was last night before we decided to take him back to the ER. This touched my heart so much.

These arenโt mine but they are sweet boys. They belong to a neighbor down the street and they got out today and were holding the mailman hostage

You should feel blessed you're allowed in their house, let alone their chair.1 -
Gaahhhh.. I love this thread but it makes me miss my cat SO much. I knew my ex was struggling with the break-up more than I was, so I tried to do the "right" thing, and let him keep Dexter. We're thankfully on good enough terms that he'll send me pics and videos when I ask for them.
He sent me this one the other day, and my heart burst โค๏ธ๐ญ

Bolt has not been well. A few times we have been close to saying goodbye, but we are on our last hail Mary.
He has had two emergency catheters, on emergency PU surgery, and now an emergency surgery to remove stones.
We bring him back home again today, and we need him to get better. Please send prayers. โค๏ธ

We had to say goodbye to him last night. ๐ He was in so much pain and the last surgery we tried failed. The only other option was a completely life altering surgery (with no guarantee) and I just couldn't put him through more pain. We are broken today. ๐

The right thing to do is often the hardest. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh my dear. That is THE hardest thing to do. Sometimes, no matter what efforts are put forth, it's time. I'm so so sorry.
And I completely agree with KosmosKitten. He was loved.2 -

Thank you, all. It was a very difficult weekend, and many more days like this to come. I appreciate your kindness and compassion. โค๏ธ They mean the world to us.
What I have learned through all this is just how bad dry food is for our kitties (especially boy kitties). The food dehydrates them, and they often don't get enough water as is to make up for the difference. These two factors lead to the increase of crystals in their urine. If under any stress (such as a change in the home, or a mild illness) those crystals can combine to become tiny stones which then begin to block the urinary tract.
My kitties were raised on kibble. My eldest developed diabetes, my youngest, crystals. When the diabetes kicked in hard, and Betty got sick, Bolt got stressed and the crystals exploded in volume. He kept blocking and no matter what we did, we couldn't get rid of them fast enough to allow him to heal.๐
If you have kitties and feed them dry... Please do some research (feline urinary tract disease) and consider feeding them wet food. It could save their life. โค๏ธ๐โโฌ7 -
I apparently interrupted something today.
