Yay! I'm Severely Obese!

Meaning my BMI is now <40 (39.9!) and so I'm no longer "morbidly obese" (Class III) and just "severely obese" (Class II).
27 pounds down, [not going to say just yet] pounds to go.
Next stop: just plain Obese! I can't WAIT to be just plain "overweight".

Congrats on your success I know how it feels I have gone from a 41.5 down to 38!!
I also can't WAIT to be just plain "overweight".8 -
Fantastic! Great outlook, too. I remember when I crossed from obese to overweight, and I'd started out as severely obese - pretty nice milestones. I'll bet your body is thanking you.

Great job, however I hate those charts!! I have seen times they calculate a toned / fit person as obese... I take it a few pounds to a time. Seems to work best for me, won't give up even if I fall off the wagon for a meal or two. Keep going and do you!3

Yeah, agreed. I know there are a lot of shortcomings to BMI calculations and they're not hard-and-fast categories, but they make nice milestones along the road. At least when you're headed DOWN!13 -
For a little more boost, track your BF% w/tape measure. You may be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes BMI doesn't reflect as much change in certain people depending on body shape. BF% can be a great motivator - as little as 3-4 lbs can make a big difference4

Congratulations! That is great news, keep on doing what you are doing!3

Fantastic progress! Well done!2

Congratulations on reaching your milestone!2

You can do it. Iโve been where you are. I officially crossed from obese to overweight this past weekend. Iโm looking at staying overweight and be happy when I hit my mark. About 15 more lbs. Dr actually said not to loose more when I was 30 lbs from the mark. No meds, normal A1C, resting rate in the 40s, size 34 jeans. Keep at it and the benefits will keep on coming in.9

What a win! ,๐ Way to go!3

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. Been below it for a week now, so it wasn't a fluke.
I'll let you know when I'm "obese".7 -
Brilliant! Hot on your heels BMI 40.7 after 15 lb loss! We can do this!6
-
I know EXACTLY what you mean! I am down 24.5 pounds and am 2 pounds away from being only "obese class II" instead of morbidly obese. Congratulations--every move in the right direction is progress!10

Fantastic work! The dedication pays off in the end. Remember these days and keep going strong!3

You know, if you don't want people to know your goal, you shouldn't give them a percentage lololololol0

Welllllll, if you noticed, I said "not going to say YET"
And in the 2+ weeks since I posted that, I got more comfortable with it.
So yes, we can do the math and figure out that my goal is 128# and at 32# I am 1/4 of the way there.
Thanks for your encouragement. I'm sure you'll be really popular here.3 -
You are an inspiration.1
