I’m 27 years old. I'm 5'8 and my weight after college has fluctuated between 133-140. When I started on here my weight went down to 128 and it’s currently at 130. I really want to get to my goal weight of 125 but there is one thing that’s stopping me….. Alcohol!

I spoke with a nutritionist and she said if I want to lose the five pounds around my waist then I have to stop drinking. I tried not drinking for a week and then having 1-2 glasses of wine, one night a week.

Ideally, I’d like to get out for a 2-3 drinks twice a week but I’m not sure how to do that without blowing my daily caloric intake. Any advice??

Thank you all!!

More exercise....unless you can cut back on calories by eating less calorie dense foods such as brocolli.

Water Water Water ... Follow each drink with water.. for every 1 drink you have have 1 full glass of water in between it helps you drink less.

As well keeps your body hydrated.

Also like other's suggest try calorie dense drinks, MGD 64? .. Also hard liquor has few calories.. so maybe Jack and Diet Coke? Vodka and Diet Cranberry?

I'm 22 and have been drinking like a fish my entire "journey"!

I limit myself to only drinking on the weekends though. Giving yourself a cheat day will keep you sane and help keep your body on its toes by not always taking in the exact same amount of calories every day.

They are now making skinny margaritas which are only 100 calories per serving. Not sure that they are serving them out anywhere yet though. You can buy them in the store.

Exercise. I couldn't stay at 1,400 a day as a grown man and drink if I didn't exercise to allow me to have a pints (and then a few more). I try and fit in walking etc even into a busy work day so I can enjoy a drink. And sometimes I say what the heck and go out and go over the top...but thats now once in a blue moon not once a week.

You can't. Your nutritionist is telling you something so why are you ignoring it? One shot of vodka has 90 calories. A Bellini has 500-600 calories. A light beer is probably your best bet but even that is about 100 - 150 calories so if you have 3 there's a whole meal. If you need alcohol that bad, that sounds like a problem. I'm sorry for being blunt about it.

This is a problem for me too. I love happy hr and my friends always want to go out for drinks. I've had to simply cut it to once a week (or every other week) and stick to rum & diet coke or wine :(

I made the painful decision to start playing football saturday mornings, and soccer sunday mornings. Really cut down on the drinking, and when I do anyway, boy do I pay for it haha

A lower in fat drink that I drank last time I had gotten to my goal weight was Whiskey and water with just a shot of diet 7up or sprite for flavor, at first its a bit tart but after you start drinking it,its really great and one of the only ones that tastes great with water as the mix Good luck

Agree, find something you enjoy to do on the weekends, I enjoy hiking just as much as I enjoy a good drink...but hiking on little sleep or a couple drinks (not even a hangover) is no fun. So I also have planned outings that cut back on my desire to drink.

Find other forms of entertainment to mix in with your social weekend. maybe have one night where you go out for a couple drinks (tops 3-4). its hard (doesn't mean you have a drinking problem :) but just like food you may need to find other substitutions.

His picture looks like he probably needs a good stiff drink.
