Puh-leeeeze... so just read this (it's on the internet so it must be true) that MaDonna has her backstage volunteers turn and face the wall before she'll walk by them.

I have also heard that it's rumored that Barbra Streisand will have hotel guest do the same.

I would double-dog dare one of their body guards to make me face the wall. $$$$$$

Good grief! :ohwell:

I'd turn to the wall - so they could kiss my *kitten*.

This is why I hate the celebrity gossip shows and news bits. It's just fueling the fire.

Well, you know what, though? All the bull**** celebs put up with...people interrupting their private meal times with their families for an effing AUTOGRAPH (are you kidding me!), etc...these celebs certainly earn their paychecks.

Maybe they are entitled to a little pretentious eccentricity. No?

This does not surprise me. I have seen unforgivable behaviour by beloved celebrities.

Back in the day I did some movies and commercials with different actors and actresses (Brad Pitt, TuPac, Ricky Schroeder, Sarah Jessica Parker, J-Lo, Spike Lee, Denzel, Robert Townsend, Jean Claude Van Damme, etc) and never did I see a hissy fit or an I'm better than you.

I am sure some people who are full of themselves do but for the most part actors are pretty down to earth.

you make a good point. there are a lot of times when i've been out with a friend and dinner is interrupted by someone who wants an autograph, or walking down the street and i'm asked to take a pic of a fan with them. the answer is usually yes.

most celebs - established or up-and-coming - are well aware that they would be nowhere without the fans. so, while i doubt the "turn and face the wall" roumor, you're right that they are entitled to be a little wacky.

besides, no artist is normal. NOT ONE.

News isn't news unless it's sensationalized! My husband went to superbowl and was flying the Canadian flag in the stadium. Authorities asked that he bring down the flag during the game. Canadian news caught wind of this and tried to make a huge story out of this, but my husband quashed the story in all interviews.
Never really believe the news - unless it is boring!

I have worked in the high end music business for many years. There are a lot of oddities that surround artists. Madonna is very calculated. I wouldn't doubt that she would do this because of her ego and creating an image. There are many celebrities who do NOT want to be bothered, especially during the creative process. There were very strict rules when working around celebrities: no autographs, no fawning, no asking for ANYTHING, no questions that do not relate to the business you are doing at the moment, no staring....etc.

Lots of celebrities would come into the recording studio and for the first hours or days, would want total seclusion and privacy but would slowly warm up as they found out that the staff was cool. Of course, there were always a few real divas, but they were really few and far between. Though I did not have here in our studio, I know many people who worked in studios when Mariah Carey was recording and I believe she has about the worst rep out there, along with Diana Ross and Kathleen Battle (the opera singer). What's funny is that there are people who come off as being difficult who are actually real sweethearts: Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Meat Loaf....

Producers can be even more eccentric than the artists, too. It's a crazy game. But, it's am amazing process and usually fun and rewarding.

My husband has done personal work for Barbra Streisand and he had no problems with her, but, then again, he is a very capable audio person and does a great job. I know she can be temperamental in the studio, but it's more artistically, and lots of artists will stand up for their creative ideas.
