Happy Sunday, everybody.

I'm taking the day off from exercise and work! I need to recharge for my first dedicated and checked on work week next week. I've been going nonstop for the past three days with no time for just sitting, so today's the day. I even bought magazines and a new herbal tea for the occasion.

I'll get in activity, but no exercise. I've got to do some housecleaning. . .such as decluttering my kitchen counter to find room for my new crock pot (I'm such a nerd, as this totally excites me. . .I haven't had one in years.) I'm also walking to the health food grocery and back. I bought this new "all natural" moisturizer (Burt's Bees. . .which has never let me down) and I look like a tomato. Seriously, like the worst sunburn ever. I look a little bit like a woman who has had a chemical peel. Not pretty. By the time it woke me up in the middle of the night, it was too late. So, I need my other moisturizer. . .in the meantime I feel like icing my face. Drama. I do this all the time, trying new things that mess with my skin, trying to save a dollar or find the miracle cure for. . .something. Lame.

Have a happy flappy, pebbles,
Take care of yourselves,
love, Matoe Face.:blushing: :flowerforyou:

  • Hi Viviakay,

I'm a newbie, and am puzzled by "SBF" ... what does that stand for?

I hope you have a peaceful day!

So for those that didn't get MM's reference yesterday (last post) - about the Hotter than Hell ride - this ride is during August - pretty much in the desert and it's 100 miles of biking. It's usually well over 100 degrees. And, I know more than one person who has done it. Last year 12,000 people were crazy enough to do that ride (1200 people did the ride yesterday, and it felt like a lot). I think they want the jersey more than anything else. I saw some people yesterday wearing them.

And, no, not doing it. I've never willingly gone to Wichita Falls:laugh: - worse weather in Texas. If you're interested MM, there is a ride from Frisco to Fort Worth. I think it's called the SAMS 150 - you get two days to finish.

Today - two yoga classes. The one this morning I'm teaching, then a flow class this afternoon. Believe it or not, I feel no soreness - as of this moment. Also, some grocery shopping and food planning on the agenda.

    Happy Flappy Workouts!

I posted a picture from the ride. My husband is in orange and my dad is in yellow.

is that before the ride? or after the ride? Everyone is so smiley. I keep trying to figure out a way to have a road bike. The main streets are crazy here, and the back streets have speed bumps, so I'm not quite sure where/how I'd ride. I know people who bike all over the place, but I've seen too many accidents to have the confidence to do it. Here's to bike lanes in the near future!:drinker:

Before the ride. My dad beat us by 15 minutes. We have slow bikes

Cute picture, Mary. You do all look very smiley.
Ouch, sorry about your face, V! Let me know how you do with the crock pot - I have had problems find good uses for mine because most of the vegetarian recipes I find are only for 6-8 hours at most, and I'm away from home for more like 10-11.

So my plan for today is to see if I can find some sort of kitchen timer to plug the crock pot into (my recipe book claims such things exist), and go shopping for food. And maybe make a whole bunch of steel-cut oats and brown rice for the week. My victory so far for the day: I had steel-cut oats with blueberries and almonds, and DIDN'T add any brown sugar like I usually do. It was still very tasty, so I'm just going to drop the sugar from now on. How is your no-sugar-and-cheese challenge going, Mary?

It's nice to get to chat with you all again!

Hope you have your face back V.

The no sugar, no cow cheese (can still have goat - this is so I still eat salad) - is going well. Hope to weigh in tomorrow.

Thanks, it's much better now. I have this heavy-duty cream called "skin food" (made by Germans, I think. . .the brand is Weleda) I am slathered in it, and returning to normal, but it's still sort of bad. . . I'm even puffy (I can see my cheeks out of the corners {bottoms?} of my eyes.) I actually went and looked at a bottle of the danger-cream in the store and it's "fine line reducing". . .which means fruit acids/AHAs. . .so that' the problem. I have a chemical burn. I'm such a delicate flower. Even Cetaphil, which is supposed to not do anything to anyone, makes me break out. I have to stick to my "almond for sensitive skin" all natural stuff. That's what I get for being seduced by shiny packaging. . .

Checking in late today. This is the first time I have sat down all day, well except in church. lol
We ate at Luby's (which we never do and I was reminded why. We had a gift card which only paid for half the food.) Not only was it not very good but now my tummy hurts. I did get a bit of a walk in with my son and did some painting on the car. Not to mention I was in high heels until 3 so that should count too!
V, I hope your skin is better by now. See you cheeks from the bottom of your eyes huh? I must be swollen all the time.
CP it's so good to see you back on the boards! :flowerforyou:
Mary, me? Ride a bike? Yeah sure. That would be hilarious. I haven't ridden a bike in years. lol Yeah I did not want to live in Wichita Falls, but I wanted to marry my guy so I had to go. I know the weather is bad there, but since we've moved to Fort Worth we've had two tornadoes form over our house! One was in Haltom City and the other in Bedford just last year. I am not looking forward to tornado season. I am always a mess with bad weather. Me and Alex and the cat get in the bathroom (and Steve when he's home at night). And there's no good place to hide in this house. The bathroom is on the outer wall, so I don't know how much protection that is. I went off on that didn't I? lol
Well, I have been feeling a little better lately so I am going to try to get my butt in gear this week. Except that my family will be here all week, so I don't know what I will get done. And it's going to be raining but I will try to eat better at least.
OH! And I changed my pillow out last night and wouldn't you know my back got better today! It's still sore but much better!
I'm chatty. Where's the chatty smiley? We'll use the laughing one again.
See you all tomorrow! Have a good night!

Love steel cut oats with blueberries. I dropped the brown sugar recently as well. Just as good. Where do you get your oats. I can't find them anywhere except the health food store.

    Hi TrailRunner -

I am generally able to find them in my grocery store, but it also has a reasonable sized health food section. Quaker actually has some now, although I like one of the Irish ones - McCann's, I think?
