    Definitely beans. But then my chilli would just be onions, garlic, mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn and spicy tomato sauce without them. Mine's a big fat veggy chilli and it ROCKS!

    beans are a MUST! remember, that if you eat enough beans, then you will eventually be able to hover in mid-air, thus no longer needing a car, thus no longer using non-renewable resources. PLUS you can be used as a source of natural gas. please, consider the environment.

    It is always a big debate here in Southern Indiana...noodles or no noodles. We always put beans in it and macaroni/spaghetti, but I have to agree with those on the east coast that it would be considered chilli mac.
