What do you eat just before the gym if you're hungry?

I had a smaller then usual lunch today and I'm set to go to the gym in a while but I'm feeling kind of hungry. I don't want to eat anything that's going to weight me down or cause any nausea when I'm pushing myself hard during the routine. That usually causes me to back off.

Does anyone have any suggestions for light but filling foods for just before the gym?

My trainer always recommended a grain. I usually grabbed an oats and honey Nature Valley bar.

I usually grab a small fruit (usually an apple or banana) and a small protein (egg, protein bar, or nuts)... with coffee! I think I read somewhere that caffeine helps burn more calories at the gym. Either way, it keeps me going during my workout!
