Continuing my quest for oddball music (well, to me), Clint Eastwood put out an album in 1962, "Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites". He sang the below song "Beyond the Sun" in the TV show Rawhide, with Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampet from the Beverly Hillbillies TV show) playing piano. I don't know if Buddy actually played the piano (my guess is no, given that he's facing the camera, behind the piano), but Clint sang the song.

His voice is far different than I expected, but then again, this is all before my time & I only know Clint from his older years, gravely voice.

For a gossip side note, Scott Weiland from STP looked like a carbon copy of Clint. People used to ask him if he were his son. Clint's real life son, Scott, now age 35, also looks exactly like Clint at this age.

For those following along, he begins singing at 1:16 in the below clip...

WHAT. A. FIND! Amazing. I never knew Clint sung in private, much less on camera. And good call on Scott Weiland (RIP).

Yeah, I like those little quirky coincidences or oddball facts.

Way back when, I used to record odd finds onto cassette tapes... like Frank singing "My Way" followed by Sid Vicious singing the same. Or, Bowie singing "Fame" followed by Marilyn, always in the quest for fame, singing "I Wanna Be Loved By You". My little inside joke with no one.

Today, I've been listening to She Past Away, at home, in the car, humming in the market... They're 2 Turks, who, due to political-religious disagreements with their homeland, left for Greece & France with wives & kids & have a sound similar to The Cure meets Sisters of Mercy via Depeche Mode.

They'll be in Tampa in Dec, but I will have left the state by then. I hope to catch them somewhere else in the states... they don't tour often. "Sanbohar" (Autumn) at 11:52 is one of their best songs... but, here's their whole Warsaw concert, for goth ghouls, who like danceable music, like me.
