I have been doing pretty well and documenting my foods. Today I had avocado toast for breakfast and at lunch I had a Caesar salad with about a six to an 8 ounce portion of salmon on top. I normally do not go over my fat allowance I need to be more mindful of when I eat salmon and when I have the avocado toast? At least both had some good fats to them. Any advice would be appreciated

When I was in weight loss mode I had my macros set at 40% carbs, 45% fat, 15% protein.

It really is just about calories. That sounds like a delicious and healthy day's food. Well done.

You can always pre-log your food and tweak portions to fit, if you want to do that. It's pretty tedious at first, but after a while I learned approximate portions. I am now set on the default macros of 50% carb, 30% fat, 20% protein and I'm always over on fat (but NOT saturated fat, I eat a lot of nuts and use vegetable and nut oils pretty generously.)

Don't worry about that. If it's not crowding out protein or other necessary things, than it is not a problem. There IS a MINIMUM amount of fat that is recommended, so quite a few of us on here set it to that number and make sure that we go OVER rather than under.

I do that with fats and carbs. Makes life easier for this under eater.

The only macro I worry about is fibre - I take iron supplements and fine that I need a decent fibre intake to prevent side effects.
I also try to get the recommended amount of protein, especially since I do a lot of running, but I don't stress over it.

Other than that, I just worry about the calories.
