my best time for 13.1 is actually a split while running a 30K. I hit the 13.1 mile mark @ 1:45:12
I need to run a half & set a PR.0 -

Thats awesome! I've just started to do longer distances last month. My routine was 6 miles twice a week and 3 miles twice a week....but I wanted a challenge! Thanks for posts. I love competition.0 -
My first 1/2 was 2:24:32 and the second one that I ran was 2:14:32 - shaved a full 10 minutes off! I have 3 more scheduled and I hope to keep improving with each one!0

That is an awesome improvement!!! Good luck on your next one!0 -
my favorite distance to race!
1:28:48 (downhill course)
on a flat course I'd expect to run 1:33 - 1:340 -
1:50:34 on a hilly Atlanta course.0

It IS a good distance. Just right...
Great North this weekend, will be 1.25 - 1.30, depending on just how bad the crowds are!0 -

racing a 5K = NO margin for error
10K feels pretty much like a 5K but twice as long (oddly enough...)
half has enough miles to make up for a bad split or two, but not enough to deplete your glycogen stores so there is no wall to hit
marathons are a tricky beast to race - enough said0 -
Im doing my first 1/2 this October, quite nervous...but after reading all these posts it gets me motivated!! Everyone that has done the race I simply admire you0

Agree about marathons too. At least if you go out too fast in a 10k or a half you don't then suffer the most unpleasant morning of your life. In a marathon though...
I will get the hang of that one!0 -
2:16:09 for me...hoping to improve that in October with a couple of races :-)0
