Gaining weight..0.4 pounds!

Hello everyone. Ive been on a health journey for 8 months now . I am down 40 pounds and have another 40 to lose . I am a 21 year old 5’6 female who weighed 196.6 before her cheat day last Saturday. This is where things are going down . I have been waiting to go down back to my weight and ran into an issue. Over the past 3 days i have gained 0.4 pounds. Im not back to my 196.6 , i got back down to 197.2 and im 197.6 today. Im starting to think something is wrong. Im in a 500 cal deficit eating 1511 calories a day . Is this water retention? Ive also been constipated and had salty food last night. My weight should be going down not up. Im honestly freaking out. Ive had so much success over the last 8 months and i definitely dont wanna start gaining. I was gonna wait to see what my weight does all next week then make adjustments if im still not loosing. Idk though, what would you all do ? am i just tripping ? Could it be fluctuations? ANYONE HELP

.4 pounds is nothing. It's fortunate you haven't experienced this in the past eight months, but fluctuations like this are incredibly common. Being constipated will increase your weight. Eating salty foods can temporarily increase your weight.
If things are working otherwise, I'd never adjust a plan due to a .4 pound fluctuation.16 -
I don't mean to sound harsh but I regularly gain about a pound between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning because I drank a glass of water. 3 lbs over a whole day on the regular and about 5 right before my period starts.
Relax. Weight fluctuating is normal.15 -
I just think whats getting me is my weight going up 0.4 pounds , ive experienced daily fluctuations but never two days going up by 0.2 each day. Its just so weird . maybe im over thinkinv, I’ll definitely keep this thread updated.2

Remain calm, this is beyond normal. I have eaten at a calorie deficit EVERY day for the last 3 months. I weigh myself daily and track the data points via an app and keep an eye on the overall trend. I have seen an increase on the scale 19 times. Bodies are complex and so many things play a role in our weight on any given date/time.7

I gained 1lb yesterday and 1 lb today on top of that. No panic, it's just my period.
If I eat sushi, I know I'll probably gain 1lb the next day.
Etc.
I would suggest using a weight trending app to filter out the daily fluctuations, such as Happy Scale or Libra.
This is my Libra graph (in kilograms) the past months, and I'm still losing weight, despite the fluctuations. The big red line is my trend, the fine lines are my individual weigh-ins.

I weigh daily, which is how I learned I retain water when I ovulate as well as premenstrually. My hormones are likelier wonkier due to perimenopause, and I have recently retained as much as SIX POUNDS of water when I ovulate.6 -

You said yourself you've been constipated, where do you think the poop goes if you aren't passing it? It's being weighed along with the rest of you.

I have gained up to 4 lbs in a DAY, even when losing (thanks, hormones). Today I dropped 2 lbs from yesterday to my normal weight, even though I knew I was still bloated and thought it would be the same. Bodies are weird, which can make weight loss frustrating. Sometimes we just have to learn to be patient and trust the process.4

so everyone, i weighed yesterday and it was back to 196.6 . Im gonna closely monitor my weight and my food to make sure everything is still on track , appreciate all of the help!2

weight loss is not linear. sounds like a normal weight fluctuation.
