Taking the long route....

Hi all,
So its been about 10yrs in the making, but I've finally decided to put my best foot forward and lose weight. Anyone that would like to add me for encouragement, please feel free.

I don't have anything special going on, there really is no driving force (event, party, wedding, etc) thats pushing me to it. Its just I finally want to and I don't want to pay hundreds of dollars a month/year for meetings, gym memberships, special tools, etc. I really like this site. I've tried it already for the past week and lost 4lbs.

Its not much, but I'm really proud of that 4lbs lol. It wasn't achieved with special food, special shakes, no pills, no frills. Just me making conscious decisions about what I was going to eat and how much.

I'd love to add some folks to stay encouraged and be encouraging. I don't have any special circumstances in life...I'm single, work at a stressful job, video gamer by night, insomniac, weekend bar hopper, happy hour enthusiast. I get depressed like everyone else (brother died about a year ago - lots of weight gain there), I stress like everyone else, I'm tired like everyone else. But if we pool what energy we do have together, we can hold each other up during our uphill (although downhill is preferable) trek towards our goal weight.

So again I invite you to add me, PM me, reply to my post, recipe swap, etc. I hope to encourage as I have been encouraged. :flowerforyou:

    Good for you for not having any reason other than yourself to change. It's probably the hardest reason motivation wise, but it's the best reason in my opinion. Good luck on your journey!
