Lost a lot but quickly started gaining back

Hey everyone! I recently lost weight using noom for 6 months. I managed to loose 36 pounds in that time! However, since my subscription ended in the middle of May I listened my restrictions and haven't been as careful as I should be and have gone from 190 lbs up to 201 in just two months. I realized I need to get back into tracking calories but wasn't going to spend the arm and leg needed to go back to noon so I'm hoping I can be just as successful here. Although I did lose 36 lbs, I never actually hit my target so now I'm aiming for 175! Wish me luck!

What if I wished you consistence instead of luck? That's closer to the reality of what it takes.
Also, from what a recall of my short use of Noom back in 2019, there's a psychological component in terms of finding your why for less helpful eating habits.
If you're able to remember what resonated for you with those tips and continue to leverage them while using MFP then you'll be well on your way to your goals!2 -
The psychological aspect is exactly why I didn't renew my subscription. None of it resonated with me. After about the first month it felt like I had overpaid for a glorified calorie calculator. It's great for some people, just not me. Ultimately for me it's just not being lazy both physically and mentally.3

I quit noom just there because it was too extreme. It was promising me I would get to my goal by November (loss of 2 stone). Maybe if I followed it, I would, but because the eating was so restrictive, I know it would pile back on as odds are my metabolism would slow. I was walking a lot and they didn't count that towards my calories so on days I used over 3000 calories I was still being told to only eat 1100 and it was making me super unhappy. It's about slow progress and making permanent changes.1

Nearly the same here. For me it wasn’t being “lazy” but I absolutely agree about the psychology. It just did not fit me. Also? The coach had zero suggestions for any disability compatible exercises. So I didn’t renew after the first couple months. And YIKES Noom is expensive!
@boilerdawg2009 MFP definitely works. Stick with it. You got this.

Noom isn't for everyone because it really only touches the surface of what may be behavioral issues of overeating. Sometimes it takes me up to 2 months to really figure out with a client what seems to work best for them. Sometimes it's food, sometimes it's exercise program, sometimes it's just consistency, etc. There are so many variables to deal with when people have difficulty in weight loss/healthy lifestyles that it may take several weeks of trial and error to help figure it out.
