@getfit.for.meee ~ Weight Loss Journal

Hi, I'm Kristi! I plan to keep track of my weight loss progress & thoughts in here. Follow along if you like as I update 🙂

I'm in my 30s, married, 4 children. 5'6

11-4-20 ~ 237 lbs (week after having a 👶)
7-16-21 ~ 225 lbs  (maintained this 10+ lb loss since January, but haven't budged under 220)

Goal 1 ~ 219
Goal 2 ~ 215
Goal 3 ~ 211
Goal 4 ~ 205
Goal 5 ~ 199
Goal 6 ~ 195
Goal 7 ~ 189
Goal 8 ~ 185
Goal 9 ~ 179
Goal 10 ~ 175

(I'll reevaluate when I get to 175 to see if I want to lose more. I haven't been that weight since 2004 & before babies. 135-145 was a good weight for me at 21, but may not be sustainable nowadays 🙃 )
I've done lots of diets, but right now I plan to just keep it simple by consistently tracking food, trying to stay within my calorie budget, and getting in exercise that I like. I've been on MFP for over a decade and it has been one of my favorite weight loss tools.

Ready, set, go!

    Update! I'm down 1.6 lbs! 🥳

    11-4-20 ~ 237 lbs (week after having a 👶)

    7-18-21 ~ 223.6

I recently switched from counting macros to just focusing on calories. I am making a non-ridgid rule though to get in at least 120g of protein daily to maintain muscle mass. I'm not worrying if I don't meet that every single day though. I got burnt out on macro counting honestly, so hopefully just tracking calories is something I'll stick with for a while. After all my years of "dieting" if there is ONE thing I have learned, it's that there is no magic diet... the thing that works is what you do are able to do CONSISTENTLY. And sometimes that might even mean switching things up, just to keep from throwing in the towel in order to not gain it all back. Before starting macro counting (on the 1st Phorm app) in March, I did WW right after having my baby in Nov. I liked WW, but it was a little too pricey. I've also lost weight (50 lbs in 2016) on keto, but it's not something I'm willing to do right now. I am happy to be back on MFP though! I'm ready to get out of these 220's & then out of the 200's, where I really feel my best! I'm just 23.6 lbs away now :)

Anyone else trying to get back into "ONEderland"?

Anyone else not really on a specific diet, but just focusing on calories in, calories out?

If you are on a specific diet, what's working for you?

I am a little shocked that the scale went down again today! 🥳 I'm really thinking that my goal to get out of the 220's this month may actually be attainable. I decided to reward myself with something when I get to 219. I thought of maybe getting the premium version of the app or some other form of "investing" in my health.

I weaned my 8½ month old this past wknd, so I'm thinking that may be helping the scale to move along the way it is. (Hormone changes & sitting down less..)

Anyone else like to reward themselves when reaching certain weight goals?

@getfitformeee When I first started losing weight a few months ago I rewarded myself with a new suit when I got to 195 lbs. Unfortunately I got off that program once I got down to 190 and wasn't paying attention and in two months got back to 201. Told myself I wouldn't wear the suit again till I at least got back to 195. Weighed in at 197.5 today!
