1. i started eating nuts to increase my calories but now i am addicted to them and eat them all the time. can eating to many hinder my weightloss if i am under my calorie goals?

2. i consume the bulk of my calories in the evening. Could this be harming my weightloss goals?

    1. If you are factoring in the calories from the nuts into your daily food counts and are still under, then you have nothing to worry about

    2. All that matters is what you eat and how much, not when you eat it. The old, "dont eat this many hours before bed" rule about dieting is a complete myth, as evidenced by decades of scientific research.

    YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT!
  • I tend to eat most of my calories in the evenings, especially if I have a super busy day at work. I have still lost weight. I have recently attempted to balance my meals a bit better, and it's sorta' worked, but I haven't seen any major changes because of it.

As for nuts, as long as you are w/i calories, you should be good. :) In other words, I agree with rluca.

I notice that when I eat most of calories and carbs during the day and a lighter dinner, I am more likely to see a loss the next day. I also never eat after I eat dinner.

Nuts are pretty high in calories and fat and I probably wouldn't eat too many of them. If you're talking about an extra serving or something then I don't think that's a big deal.

Yes this is exactly right. the only thing I'll add is that your metabolism naturally slows down during the day so calories you eat later in the day will not be burned as easily, but nevertheless if you eat what you're supposed to it doesn't matter.

I eat most of my calories at night... It hasn't seemed to be a problem for me. I'm pretty close to my goal and trying to hard be patient and step down my rate of loss.

I start my day late, lunch around 2pm and home about 8pm for dinner, then a large snack/small meal around 10pm then bed at 1am. On days I don't work out I find I get anxious about running out of calories too early in the day, so I tend to save them for later...

This makes me happy! Because I try so hard not to eat after 8, and I almost always end up eating a snack and feel guilty.
