307g carbs a day? Really?

I'm 350 right now. To get to my goal weight of 225, I need to consume 307g of carbs a day. Isn't that a lot? In 2230 calories, how much is 307g of carbs?

MFP's default values for the ratio of protein, fat, and carbs in your diet is quite high. Personally, I'd recommend going into your goals, choosing the "custom" setting, and tweaking them. What is probably wisest (assuming you can afford it), is going with 40% protein, 30% carb, 30% fat. That's a heck of a lot of protein, however. It will seriously impact your grocery bill.0

From the best sources I can find, a carb gram is equal to 4 calories, so 307 carb grams would equal 1228 calories by this conversion. I find this hard to believe as a low calorie diet does consider this amount of calories as a low calorie intake, but 307 carbs is a lot of carbs. A low carb diet can start you as low as 20 per day for the first two weeks, so you can see the difference. This site can help considerably with the FOOD section. After you set your goals, enter your foods daily setting up a diary just for you and it will track the amount of calories, carbs and all the other items. You can also search any food item and get the information then add it to your diary. Hope this helps, I have lost 52 lbs since November. I love meats and that is my main food. I do not follow a typical plan. I have never been a breakfast eater even though every one says to. I have a pack of crackers and a soda in the morning to have something, do not each lunch and eat a reasonable supper and that is my own plan and it works for me. The key is find foods you like and be reasonable with how much of it you eat. Good luck!0

holy frigg, lol i guess i never looked at mfp carb goal lol if i had i would have prob not lost what i did... i very rarely have a day over 130 carbs a day... n usually run 115 er there abouts.0
