I am a diabetic who was eating more proteins to get my diabetes under control ( which I did ). My other issues I am in CKD (chronic kidney disease), stage 3 & getting worse. Is there anyone in here with BOTH of these conditions? What kind of plan are you doing? SERIOUSLY NEED HELP! Thank you

Do you have a Registered DIabetes Educator or at least a Registered Dietician that you have been referred to? This would probably be best asked to them. My mom has T2 and CKD, among other issues, and unfortunately, she won't follow their advice.

A dietician/nutritionist is NOT covered on my insurance.

What country do you live in that it isn't covered? Most insurance will cover it in the United States as part of your Diabetes treatment.

Take advantage, then. I don’t have either, but working with a dietician (I paid out of pocket) kickstarted my weight loss.

I used to go in armed with a list of questions and took extensive notes. She’s the one who referred me to MFP.

I am covered, I called back my insurance company. I am covered, it's listed under a different "title" .

Great! This is likely your best source of info.

Yes, it's great that you found out you are covered to see a nutritionist. Please make sure to tell them about your diabetes AND kidney issues. I don't know what your particular kidney issue is but I have a friend who was diagnosed with some sort of kidney issue and he was specifically told to eat a LOW protein diet bc I think it can get hard on the kidney's to process a lot of protein....so you need to talk to someone more familiar with both of your issues (maybe have them have a phone convo with your doc too) bc maybe what's best for each could be worse for the other...?
