Weight loss surgery.

Has anyone had the sleeve done ? I have one more appt with nutritionist. One appt with psychologist and one appt with my regular doctor. Then the request will go to my insurance.
Kinda scared. I know it will all be worth it. This being over weight is not for sissy's.
Am I told old for weight loss surgery? with multiple heart conditions, will I be ok?
so many questions going thru my mind.
This thought keeps running thru my head, "I am taking a year out of my life, to add years to my life"
Does that make sense?

Hi! I had the sleeve done last February. You are definitely not too old! As for multiple heart conditions, I'm sure the doctor will be sure to take special note while you are under anesthesia, however, I can only imagine your heart health will improve 10x with the mass weight loss. Weight takes a huge toll on our organs. Getting the sleeve was the best decision I've made in my life. I've lost over 100lbs and still going.

I am also getting the sleeve in a couple of months. I have the same worry you do about age. I am 59 and worry about loose skin snd having loose skin, etc. 230 lb right now at 5 foot 2 in tall and just had a knee replacement.

thank you for your comments!! i did have the surgery on Oct 7 and as of today I am down 30lbs!! i am already starting to feel better and LOVE LOVE LOVE watching the scale numbers go down!
I have had very minimal problems since surgery. I have kept everything down and just continue to be careful not to overeat. By far the hardest part being not really enjoying eating now, but leaning what I can do and what I can not do. My husband is a big guy, 6'3", walks over 15, 000 steps a day for his very physical job and it just sucks sometimes watching him eat a whole plate of food while i have my tiny portion! but it will all be worth it when I can finally get into a pair of zip up jeans and not stretchy pants!!

Please continue to keep in touch. I would like to know your progress as well!
