    i eat a copious amount of fruit in the summer. this chickens and ducks love it, as it tends to go bad faster than i can eat it, and that means THEY get a lot, too LOL

    they REALLY love watermelon. it is, by far, their favorite.

    My neighbor has learned that, too. She will toss out her rinds for them. They (well, the chickens) walk a quarter mile EVERY DAY to see if she has left them any. 31 chickens parading through a pasture and woods to ask for scraps.

    Freaking beggars.

    I just laughed when I realized this thread was created in 2010, lay dormant and got resurrected almost exactly 10 years later! All for watermelon! :laugh:
