Adding Cardio when over in calories?

So is it acceptable practice to see that you are over calories to add in another cardio at the end of the day ? I think I will have to do this until I figure out how to eat 1200!

I do too! :-D0

of course! it takes a lil bit for your stomach to shrink after used to eating alot of calories, now a couple months in of me cutting down on the snacking after quiting smoking, its much easier to meet that goal, my stomach doesnt need as much food to get full anymore. try eating healthy lil snacks throughout the day.!0

Of course. I use a Bodybugg, and towards the end of the day if I notice that I don't think I'm going to hit my goal burn, I try to do something extra to hit my goal. What I do depends on how much extra I need to burn. LOL

for sure! I pre-plan my week so days where I know I will be eating out and going over my calorie goal a bit, I already know I have to get a workout in SOMEWHERE...
I find I feel full when I eat ~1400 calories so since my daily goal is 1240 I basically work out so I can eat lol0 -
Are you sure 1200 is actually correct? For most people, that is too low --
Do you have 70+ lbs to lose or are you super tiny?
If you have less than 30 or so to lose, you should look at your settings and choose 1/2lb a week.0 -
I have to start doing the same thing!0

I do it, too....I have also added extra cardio in the morning if I know that we will be having something like pizza for dinner, or going out for lunch...A little extra cardio never hurts...(Just burns a bit)... :flowerforyou:0

Yes, I do it all the time. Are you sure 1200 calories is enough though? At minimum I think NETTING 1200 is the lowest anyone should really go.0

lol I think I'm going to do this tonight so that I can have a DQ Mini Blizzard...*drools on keyboard*0

I usually work out in the evenings. But if i know I'm going to go over my calories (i.e. girls night dinner), I add an extra work out in the morning. That way I can enjoy myself at dinner without feeling guilty about it later.0

unfortunately I am extremely heavy - 5'2" @ 215 lbs!!! I wear the weight well, but my knees are suffering, blood pressure is rising, etc......0

Don't worry, it's something a lot of people do. Just make sure that you don't burn yourself out. If you exhaust yourself just to stay under calories (or to eat a special something), you're really not doing yourself any favors. I know that for me, if I work out too hard without enough rest in between, I feel tired and run-down the next day, don't have the energy for my regular exercise, and sometimes even get sick. Nothing puts a damper on your weight loss progress like catching a nasty bug!
I'd also make sure that you're remembering to make it worth it. Our bodies only have so much to give, and being in a calorie deficit is hard enough on our systems as it is. Putting in an extra workout once in a while isn't a big deal, but I personally would see it as a problem if I routinely started overworking my body just to eat junk food, for example.0
