What is this exactly? Should I be doing this in the cardio parts of my workouts? How does it work and is it better than just a normal 30 minutes on the elliptical?
Any info appreciated.....I know my body is ready to step up the cardio side of my workouts...mind is not but body is...

HIIT are quick highly intense workouts! I would suggest doing these as well as cardio! with HIIT you do burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time, and you do get fast results! good luck!0

Article from one of my favorite blogs. I think you get more results from less percieved efforts using HIIT.0 -
One thing I have to caution is that you don't want to do them every day, and you want to keep them short. So maybe every other day and no longer than 20-30min at a time.0

Here's one I enjoy watching, I've not really tried any of them out yet though. Still working on building up some endurance.

They've been focusing on doing HIIT videos for like 3 years now. Fairly simple but strenuous activities you can mostly do with yo ur own body weight that get fast results.
As far as I understand they are short intense workouts of interval training. 30 seconds of something really hardcore, 10 second break, 30 seconds of something else as hard as you can, etc.0 -

Just did my first HIIT cardio workout this week. I ran in my neighborhood. Sprinted from one light pole to the next then jogged then sprinted, etc. Did this 10 times. With the 5 minute warm-up it came to about 20 minutes. I was exhausted. Interesting part was that my sprinting got better and better it was my jogging that I struggled with.0

Interesting. Since this is the least glamorous thing I've read on the topic it's probably the most accurate.0 -
