    Yes, i once found a bag with around 10K in it.
    It belonged to a store that was supposed to drop of the money at the bank but somehow the owner lost that bag.

    I went to the police station with it, and they tracked down of who it was.
    The owner of the store (a clothing store) was very thankful to me, and he let me shop there for around 1K worth of clothing.
    Over here, when you find money, and turn it in to the police, it's common to get like a 10% finder's fee, it's not obligated, but more rule than exception.
    But instead of the 10% finders fee, the store owner let met shop for about the same amount as what finders fee would be.
