how many calories? because chewing all day long is gonna burn something- so if a stick of gum is like 5 calories, and you chew it all day long, the net=zero. at least that's what I would assume.
I never eat every single calories allotted to me anyway, I usually leave like 20-50 on the table every day, just for "justincase" so I say enjoy your gum and don't worry too much about it0 -
I think that you have to swallow it for the calories to count. So as long as you spitit out your good!!:happy:0

I don't add gum. :laugh:0

No, I have never logged in calories for gum. I like to chew while cooking, so I figure it's doing more good than bad.0

I don't...I chew sugarless trident which has less than 5 calories a stick.....I figure I burn that plus some just chewing it.0
-
I don't log my gum, either. I love the theory that the chewing burns whatever calories it contains!0

Sweet!!! That makes me happy! Not that I go up to my max on my calories most days anyway - but hey ... every little bit counts! And I love the idea behind burning calories while you are chewing it ... so I'm going to chew away!!!

I've often pondered this as well. I don't log mine.

I am an avid gum chewer. I don't log them, they're 5 cals. And on an up note (I must research this more) my Mom said a study just came out that the process of chewing releases some hormone that protects against dementia and alzheimers....Yeah, I'll look that up before I repeat it anywhere else.:laugh:0

Nope I don't log it either.0

I heard that gum makes you hungry because your body says"hey, I thought food was coming." I don't know, I just got that in 6th grade health class.0

I don't chew gum, but I do eat Altoids. I also track them. But I guess that also goes with your theory of chewing the gum also burns calories.
BTW, 3 Altoids = 10 calories (Wintergreen).0 -
Nope, but since I haven't been working and am home ALL the time, I haven't been chewing it (my pets don;t stinky breath). Anyway, I have noticed less tartar build up at the dentist. See if my theory is correct.0
