    Four years of high school French was enough for me to get by on during a week long school-sponsored trip to Paris years ago. Fast forward to today and I can remember a lot of nouns, how to conjugate verbs and some basic sentences, but I'm no master of the language.

    Sure. We had 3 growing up. Small (6-ft high?) medium (12-ft?) and yes, you can come with us, but we’re not going to the neighbors to borrow the big ladder, so don’t go up if you can’t come down.

    And fwiw, kick the can was a game we played as kids in my neighborhood... a variation of hide and seek and you never replaced the can with a rock or a box. 😂
