I wore high heels today for the first time in years. I had stopped wearing them because they hurt my feet, but today I walked easily and felt fine. All that time I thought I was just getting older. Nope, just overweight and inactive. Feels so good to look down and see non-frumpy shoes on slim feet!!15

Oooh, I have another one...
Last year when I turned 50, the world was too locked down to have much of a celebration, so this year I ended up with four days of birthday meals in restaurants. I only joined MFP in February, so this is the first special event time I've had to navigate. My NSV is that I was able to make good choices for food and workouts to keep on track even with a few curveballs thrown into my schedule. It was SO great to be able to log meals ahead of time and see exactly what I needed to do to stay on track. AND to know mathematically that the slight scale bump this morning is just water/salt because I did NOT eat enough to actually gain the extra weight.
I feel so free from all the confused head games I used to play. Now it's all just math and deciding what's worth the calories to me and what isn't. So, after finishing up my last birthday meal today, I'm feeling more confident than ever that I will be able to keep this weight OFF and NOT have to keep losing the same thirty pounds over and over again like I have in the past. Being able to eat anything I want and see the numbers is a game changer. Can't wait to see what the next year holds!20 -
I bought a really short pair of yoga leggings with matching crop top to use for a swimsuit, because I don’t like to expose bathing suit level amounts of skin. But haven’t been to the pool at all this year.
I figured I needed to get some use out of them so wore them to a mat class this evening.
When I walked in, conversation stopped. I was super embarrassed. Too much? Mutton dressed as lamb?
Three people at once said, “Wow! You’ve got great legs!”
I felt like a million bucks.

I suddenly have loose skin on my thighs. I stick my legs in the air to do yoga and it all slides down and puddles at my hips. When I noticed I just lay there and moved my leg to watch it. This is a new thing my body is doing.
I had to skip breakfast this morning for fasting bloodwork, and it used to be that would be a reason to have a mammoth brunch. This time I put three crackers and a cheese stick and a box of raisins in a bag and left them in the car, and when I got done with the labs, I sat in the car and ate them before driving home. And that was just fine. It kept me together till lunch. (I didn't manage to duck the no-breakfast migraine, but you can't win them all.)21 -
A year ago, I was wearing size 18 jeans. This morning, I put on (and fit into!) size 10 jeans. 💚40

As of 3 days ago I can climb the stairs alternating steps. I haven't been able to do that since before 10/15 due to a leg fracture. I'm sure 55 lbs of weight loss is why I can now!24

I found out yesterday evening that maintenance was coming to my apartment which is a MESS, thanks to school starting again. So, this morning, I woke up and started cleaning. I folded four loads of laundry, did dishes, wiped counters, swept, vacuumed...the whole bit took about an hour. Then I took my dogs for a long walk so they would be nice and calm. When I came back home, I did a short yoga routine and started logging my food for the day.
The victory part of it is that I did it without thinking, just as something I do. Thirty pounds ago, I would have been sweaty and exhausted, or my back would have hurt, or I would have put it off. So, it's kind of amazing to think that this is what I'm capable of now!32 -
I actually ran the same speed as my iFit trainer!21

I realized that I've been consistently exercising M-F for 8 weeks! There's even a few Saturdays and Sundays in there! I'm so proud of myself!!!!26

This is pretty nonspecific, but I just FEEL better. I feel different when I move. My body feels different. I can tell I'm lighter and healthier.29

I started a new job yesterday. It's in a rural location with no shops/cafes close by so you need to take lunch etc in. I was talking to a colleague about this and the fact that there wasn't even a vending machine when she told me that there is a "tuck shop" at reception so you can get chocolate/crisps etc. I said that I'd try not to get tempted so often when she replied "but there's nothing of you". I don't think anyone's ever said that to me before! [I am maintaining at the moment rather than losing, but still trying to be sensible]17

I had a doctor appointment today. She did not lecture me about my weight.
A weird win. But a win nevertheless.45 -
My 2 (they happened on the same day) most recent NSV’s were #1) Being able to comfortably cross my legs for the first time since 2004, and #2) Having my endocrinologist tell me that my type 2 diabetes is officially in remission! Ive been off of meds for over 6 months, my last hemoglobin a1c reading was 4.9, and the only time I need to check my blood sugar is when I think it’s too low, because now I’m actually hypoglycemic! If I eat too many carbs and then don’t eat for too long afterwards, my blood sugar crashes! So I’m super excited about the next time I have an appointment with my PCP, so I can tell her! I’m super proud of this NSV!!!39

Did well above and once even doubled my 10,000 daily step goal every single day on my 4 night beach vacation with the kids.
Ate fairly well too so I discovered that I had a small (-1lb) scale victory when I returned today too!
I really hope to keep up my steps now that I'm home and back to work and kids school routine next week.35 -
I swam 1050 yards yesterday. I swam as a child, but just started back in the pool two months ago. I'm not comfortable doing more than one lap at a time freestyle, but can do breast stroke for days. Continuing to build my endurance and confidence, slowly but surely.25

@buddharivet Congratulations on being in remission from Type 2 diabetes! That is awesome! You will be amazed at how many times you will cross your legs when it's comfortable. Congrats, again!10

For years I have been dealing with the aftermath of a car wreck that meant I had a very careful and strict standing budget. If I sat between for thirty minutes to an hour, I could both cook dinner and then clean it up.
But for the last week I've been able to cook dinner, sit down to eat it, then go in immediately and clean up the dishes. Because I wasn't in pain. Because I'm hauling less weight on the rebuilt foot. This is a very nice promise of the future.46 -
These are all incredibly inspiring! I have always loved the NSV fitness milestones over the scale ones. (Mainly because a 250 NFL player and a 250 me are NOT the same).
Mine isn't super inspiring, but celebrating the small victories is important too.
My NSV is that I am only 15 seconds away from reaching my 1.5 mile goal, and that I have moved to a lower incline for my inclined pushups. That, and the dress I graduated from university in 3 years ago fits again. Now if only I can get in "steal clothing from my sister" range...26 -

I am also finding it a little bit easier to walk…. Which is weird. But not terrible.11 -
I'm remembering that there is no "wagon" to get on or fall off. It's a continuous journey. You just keep going.
Wow! This blew my mind. I've always thought of myself as "on the wagon" or "off the wagon" and "on track" or "off track." It's always, "Am I being good or bad." I like the non-duality of "there is no wagon to get on or fall off."

I was on the Vida Health for a year. My BMI before was 34 (obese). It is now 25. Although I need to lose at least 10 pounds, my BMI was within the normal range. I am 5'0. I weighed 155. Now 127. To see my BMI within the normal range was thrilling.26

Back again. I love reading all these motivational NSVs!
My own is that a while back, JC Penny was closing in our mall, so we went out and picked up some cheap deals. I have a pair of caprees that I bought, and when I bought them, I had to struggle to get them up over my hips/butt, and they were tight. I held on to them because there were no returns on their closing deals...
Well, today I can put those caprees on with no struggle! They're not tight in my butt/hips at all. Still a little snug on my stomach, but not uncomfortable!23 -
Had to buy new clothes since the ones I had were falling off my waist and my shoulders. Bought only a minimum since I hope this size is just a phase I'm passing through on the way to my ultimate weight goal of having a healthy BMI (I'm assuming that scale will still be accurate for me.)21

FINALLY! Someone said something about my weight loss, a girlfriend I hadn't seen in a few months. She didn't know I was actively working it, it was so nice to hear I nearly cried, and I gave her a huge bear hug! Best incentive ever.30

I ran for 30 seconds today.
That doesn't seem like a lot, but for someone who DREADS even the THOUGHT of running, the fact I had enough motivation on my walk to even try is a huge accomplishment34 -
I can now walk outside long enough that I need to put on sunscreen. Hurray!28

I was with my kids and my ex (we don't fight or anything, I can be around him, but I much rather not). Someone I hadn't met in a while came up to me and said "you look great, you are skinnier" (can't really translate properly but she said it in a really nice way). It made me happy, and even happier as my ex heard it, bc he was always the fit one, telling me to exercise/eat better, but he has now added a a few pounds :-D24

I had two this past weekend.
I had a follow up Dr. Visit. They took my blood pressure and the nurse said it was perfect. The Dr. Came in and asked if I was following my meds, and I told him I had stopped the BP meds because they were making me dizzy. The Dr. said, "well your BP looks good, but you'll probably end up back on them, how long ago did you stop taking them". I told him several months, and he looked puzzled as to why it was so good? Then I mentioned I had dropped 50 lbs. His whole approach changed and he said how impressed he was and what a big accomplishment, etc.. Just the change in attitude with my improved health, he said that should keep me off BP meds for 10 - 20 years.
The second was a visit to buy some interim pants. Something that would stay up, and get me buy till the next size. My current jeans are 40" waist that is stretchy. So went with some standard jeans and took both 38" and 36" to the dressing room. Why not?? So I started with the 36" and they fit! Bam! Didn't bother with the 38"'s and struted right out of the dressing room with a purpose. They should be fine, until the next phase.25 -
Managed to do 3 miles in under 30 mins.. I even clocked a 9:30 min mile. Followed it up immediately with a 3 mile walk at a little over 15 min pace per mile…26
