Just bought my first Spaghetti Squash...Help needed!
Hello Everyone,
I was finally able to find a spaghetti squash! I have never cooked one before, and I have looked at several different sites for instructions....BUT I would like to hear from you guys! What is your favorite way to cook/serve it?!
Thanks!

cut it in half length-wise
rub with a little olive oil, salt, and some pepper
roast in the oven (30 minutes, or depending on size. they can be pretty big)
take out, scrape with a fork
After that, I either add a little non-dairy butter and more salt to eat it plain
OR
Serve with garlic-y marinara and your favorite meat balls (I like lentil balls and I sometimes just serve with sauteed lentils instead)0 -

I cooked my first one today too I stabbed it a few times and put in in the oven at 375 and cooked it for about an hour.. gutted it and plan to mix it with some olive oil, feta cheese, tomatoes, black olives, garlic and onion.. I seriously can't wait until dinner time0

Cut in half lengthwise, put cut side down on plate with a bit of water on it... cover with plastic wrap, microwave for 7-8 mins.
Plate the cooked squash, top with marinara and parm, or butter salt and pepper.0 -
cdstadt, how do you make the lentil balls? I love lentils and would love to know how you make them..thanks!0

i stab it a few times, toss it in the Microwave for 5 minutes, then turn, then 5 minutes, then turn. cut it in half, gut it, add a smidge of butter, and serve with homemade spaghetti sauce and turkey meatballs!0

I'm an improviser! But if your lentils are on the dry side use any of the bean ball recipes on the internet that use vital wheat gluten and/or flax meal. If they are on the wet side--certain lentils don't cook up dry enough--it might be harder to make balls out of them. Once you mix in something like breadcrumbs, try chilling them first, then rolling, and then baking.
These tofu balls are actually my favorite but lentils seem to go better with squash: http://www.theppk.com/2009/01/tofu-balls/0 -
Thank you everyone! I can't wait for dinner!0

I make mine in the oven, in a casserole dish.
Oven 350F
Add a little water to the dish (just to steam)
Cut the squash lengthwise
Place meat side down. Bake 30-40 (based on size)
Once it's finished let it stand a few mins then scrape with a fork. (right to the peel)
Serve however you'd like! We usually do spaghetti squash on easy dinner nights with fried ground turkey and a low calorie low sodium spaghetti sauce. A yummy pasta alternative0 -
I made spaghetti squash for the first time not too long ago and I didn't know what to expect, but it was okay. I didn't know that it would be sooo crunchy! I mixed out with spaghetti sauce and meatballs with a little parmesan cheese and it was good!0
