I had two this past weekend.
I had a follow up Dr. Visit. They took my blood pressure and the nurse said it was perfect. The Dr. Came in and asked if I was following my meds, and I told him I had stopped the BP meds because they were making me dizzy. The Dr. said, "well your BP looks good, but you'll probably end up back on them, how long ago did you stop taking them". I told him several months, and he looked puzzled as to why it was so good? Then I mentioned I had dropped 50 lbs. His whole approach changed and he said how impressed he was and what a big accomplishment, etc.. Just the change in attitude with my improved health, he said that should keep me off BP meds for 10 - 20 years.
The second was a visit to buy some interim pants. Something that would stay up, and get me buy till the next size. My current jeans are 40" waist that is stretchy. So went with some standard jeans and took both 38" and 36" to the dressing room. Why not?? So I started with the 36" and they fit! Bam! Didn't bother with the 38"'s and struted right out of the dressing room with a purpose. They should be fine, until the next phase.25 -
Managed to do 3 miles in under 30 mins.. I even clocked a 9:30 min mile. Followed it up immediately with a 3 mile walk at a little over 15 min pace per mile…26

I'm wearing a size "small" T-shirt! It's a men's small, so more like a women's medium, but I haven't worn anything small sized in roughly 30 years!

Today I went to my favorite yarn store, and two different people remarked on my weight loss. I've dropped four clothing sizes and thirty pounds, yet this is the first time anyone has noticed besides my husband and trainer. And then to have TWO people mention it independently of each other??! This whole journey is so weird!! But I've been struggling lately trying to lose the last few pounds, so today was actually a great day for someone to say something.30

Got my bike tuned up, went for 2 rides (havent ridden in over a year) - used to get a sore back, forearms especially when first ride of the season - been doing regular kettlebell workouts since early pandemic...
...I must be stronger or more used to muscle movement (besides running)!
Super impowering feeling!20 -
I'm used to washing my hair over the side of the bath tub, leaning on the edge (I use rhassoul clay instead of shampoo, so it takes a while to wash my hair, 5 minutes to put on the clay, 5 to 10 minutes to rinse it out).
My NSV is that we're currently traveling (hotel room without a bath tub, only a shower) and I managed to wash my hair while not supporting myself on my arms, perched forward over the shower basin and it was NOT excruciatingly painful. Not sure if it's the weight loss itself or also the exercise I've been doing, but the difference with last year is night and day!19 -

But for the last week I've been able to cook dinner, sit down to eat it, then go in immediately and clean up the dishes. Because I wasn't in pain. Because I'm hauling less weight on the rebuilt foot. This is a very nice promise of the future.
I am also finding it a little bit easier to walk…. Which is weird. But not terrible.
I'm almost annoyed, because after 20 years I had my standing budget understood and unconscious. And now it has CHANGED. I keep getting excited and overestimating myself, and then I hurt and wind up sitting on my rear all evening.11 -
Today I realized that I've cut myself down to only 1 iced coffee a week (if I'm REALLY craving it. Sometimes I skip it altogether), and I'm no longer putting extra sweeteners in them. They are plenty sweet for me as is now!21

I have mobility issues, and normally have a really tough time with stairs. Yesterday I went to one of my doctor's appointments, and the elevator was out in the building (and the office is on the second floor). Not too long ago, that would have meant I had to reschedule - but yesterday I managed to make it up the stairs without pain!! Made my week!35

I found myself actually wanting to workout. Not "it's my scheduled time to workout." Not "I really should work out." It was, "I really feel like lifting some weights right now."24

Today I tried on clothes in my closet. I do this regularly for personal encouragement, plus I like to keep only clothes that are currently fitting. I have found, though, that many of my thrift store clothes purchases have never been worn, but I've outgrown them to the point that they must go back to the thrift store as a donation. Perhaps I should slow down on the purchases, or buy only XS so I can grow into them. The terms "outgrown" and "grow" seem inappropriate; maybe "shrink" is more accurate. Whatever... Life is good. No, it's EXCELLENT. I feel like a (70-year-old) happy kid.29

Ran my best 1.5 mile this morning!18

I have had struggles doing a standing quad stretch, usually having to try to hold on to the heel of my shoe. Today, after not having been to OTF for a few weeks, I was shocked when I could easily grab a lot more of my shoe. Totally unexpected. I was delighted and can't wait until I can grab the front of my shoe.15

I could put my wedding ring back on! My fingers have been too swollen to wear it regularly for about a year... today I decided to give it a try and it fit!16

...and now I'm wearing the size small (still men's) shorts to go with the size small T-shirt. They are drawstring, but hey! I'll take it! (I don't like how women's exercise clothes fit.)17 -
Had to get both my wedding ring and engagement ring resized by TWO SIZES down!18

I did yoga for the first time today with my trainer, and I could hold all the poses easily. She couldn't believe I'd never tried yoga before, but the only reason I could do it was because of all the strength training we've been doing previously. It was a fun reminder of how far I've come. No way I'd have been able to do all that before I lost the weight and started going to the gym. Now I'm eager to do more of it. It's such a nice balance to everything else. Makes me happy that I can now try new things and actually succeed at them!21
