Hello everyone!
My name is Julie, and this is probably the fifth website like this I have tried, but it comes at the end of a search for all the things I want in such a website: a calorie tracker, exercise tracker, positive presentation, and what looks like a great, helpful community!
I am personally working on getting rid of about eight years of bad health choices to the tune of about eighty (more) pounds. It's a daunting goal, so I'm trying to break it up in steps. So far, since I started working on it, I've lost about 35 pounds. Feeling unattractive and over-weight has been a big strain on my self-esteem for far too long.
I've just started trying to figure out how to do pilates and yoga without falling on my face (lol @ no core strength...), but I love to dance so that helps.
I'll part with something a woman wise beyond her years said to me once, while I was struggling with my long term goals, which might be inspirational to you all as well:
'Think of your goal like a highway. You might pull off that highway every now and again, even find a bad hotel to spend the night in... but that doesn't mean that the next day you start back at the beginning of your journey. Just get back in the car, and get back on the highway, and keep going, and eventually you'll get there.'
Nice to meet you all.
