Does it count as "reading" a book if I'm reviewing my first novel to make sure my second novel is consistent and hasn't screwed up a timeline or whatnot?

Though H ell Should Bar the Way by David Drake. It is sort of a book in the RCN series. I'm almost done with it, have generally enjoyed it. A decent action/adventure space opera...

"Dragon Born" by Michael Noss (not the book of the same title by a dozen other authors), available in paperback and kindle formats on Amazon.

It's a fantasy novel. After I self-published it, I was asked if I was inspired by the video game Elder Scrolls, which I can honestly say I knew nothing about until after I was asked by multiple people.

Am right now the motions of having a few family members test-read by sequel, give me input so I can edit it into a better product. Anybody interested in being a beta-reader?

Just read Patricia Brigg's Storm Cursed (again, I'd forgotten...) and Smoke Bitten, which I really liked.

Reading To Clear Away the Shadows by David Drake now, which is probably my Drake limit for the year, having read two in about as many weeks. I like Drake but only limited amounts. Unlike some writers I like, I can't see doing a Drake binge.

Just finished Forgotten in Death by JD Robb. I like her books quite a bit. Usually series this long get dumb or boring or repetitive but not these. There is formula, yes, and even some predictability but not boring or stale.

I am rereading Remember When, by JD Robb and Nora Roberts (the same person!).

I'm gonna talk anout what my husband is reading for a minute because...blown away. I've been reading Ilona Andrews for years...he reads some of them, especially the Edge and Hidden Legacy, but has always been iffy on the Kate Daniels series. Then the first Iron Covenant came out and he loves it. Me: you DO know this is part of the Kate Daniels dtory arch, right? Him: Yeah. BUT...but it's different ...

Now he has gone back to the beginning of the Kate Daniels list and is reading them. And...dare I say...liking them. And telling me he doesn't think he's read them before. So weird.
